I think that’s wrong. There’s 2 that are the face of obstructionism and there are a bunch of cowards happy to hide behind them as an excuse.
I mean Republicans deserve blame for being awful and creating this mess, but it is within Democrats’ authority and power to fix it. And they don’t. Trump stole money from other departments to fund his wall. Nobody stopped him (except voters and I guess Mike Pence?). Biden does nothing to ensure appropriate reproductive care continues. The Supreme Court is weighted with unpopular minority rule? You can pass a law with majorities in each chamber that expands the court to correct that. Democrats don’t. Barring that, Biden could say that he needs no such law because the Constitution empowers only him to nominate justices and the senate to consent to seat them and nominate 4 new justices for the senate to vote on tomorrow. Biden doesn’t do it. The Democrats don’t push for it. He could have done that a year ago and prevented this. He didn’t. He could use the national outrage as support for at least doing it now. He doesn’t. Democrats could have been pointing out how the increasingly authoritarian minoritarian-rule Republican Party is a very threat to the continued existence of liberalism around the globe, but the haven’t and they won’t. The only conclusion is that they do not want individuals to feel empowered to make real meaningful change happen.
I’m about to begin to come off as very abrasive to the people in my life who continue to vote for Republicans. Arkansas has been a red state for a long time but hopefully this wakes up a large segment of the population who don’t bother to vote bc they think the feds will protect them. This sucks, but the fight is now at the state level whether we like it or not.
