The cops are there to defend property. That’s it. They don’t deserve to be defended, in any scenario. They started as slave catchers in this country and they’ve barely evolved from there.
I know the history. I'm one of the biggest critics of cops on this board. That said, verbally assaulting them in hopes of a response to get views is shitty. If the cop had done something, my opinion would be different, but these particular cops didn't do anything to deserve being talked to like that. If you think just being a cop is reason enough for the public to verbally berate cops, we can just disagree. There's just no reason to talk to someone that way when they've done nothing to you. "I'm going to verbally assault you while I film you and know you can't respond" is a bitch move.
I feel like this applies to like 95% of cop interactions when they stop citizens (minorities) for frivolous bullshit. Fuck em.
Bullshit. They showed up to violently suppress people trying to fight for their rights in the only way left. They are the problem. They shouldn’t be there.
Lumping all cops as one is pretty dumb. There's plenty of cops that deserves to be treated like that, these particular ones don't. At least off these interactions. The camera guy was the aggressor. He's just a troll looking for a reaction. He's the same type guy that will berate an employee at a store knowing they won't respond bc they'll lose their job. He's a little bitch. He's no better than a cop that does shit like that knowing the unarmed civilian can't respond.
But I'm not going to waste my Sunday on this. If you want to go verbally assault someone knowing they can't respond, go for it.
Yes there are. And every cop that shows up in riot gear to a protest is one of them. Violent suppression of our first amendment rights is the worst thing cops are deployed to do - and it happens all the fucking time. They need to be constantly berated every time they show up - at a minimum.
Just being there isn't an issue. There's plenty of video out there of cops being real shitty. This wasn't one of then. There was no violence from the cops.
So you think a proper response from an authority figure to an asshole with a camera is “if you take a step Im going to shoot you”? Does that de-escalate the situation?
Also wrong. Showing up in riot gear is a violent promise meant to intimidate and and discourage protest.
The camera man asked the question. He brought up shooting someone. The camera guy was the aggressor the entire time. He was the one moving forward while the police were retreating.
They are following orders. Take it up with the chief. Those particular cops were just doing their job, and from what I saw on the video, they did it well. A lot of cops wouldn't have kept their cool like those did.
What did the cop do to de-escalate? Does answering that question with a Yes Ill shoot you de-escalate the situation?
She’s so good at messaging, but the geriatric fucks in Dem leadership hate her more than they hate Republicans
It's ACAB Not A*CAB *maybe not actually all of the forces that keep us in line or beat us until we do
i don’t even remember what it was anymore im sure someone said something stupid and then got shit on though for it to get deleted that fast
Also folks remember always treat cops like the subhuman gutter trash like they are. Never be nice to the modern day brown shirts. Always remind them that they’re dogshit and that we all fucking hate them. They deserve it
Imagine all of the backslapping that went on in churches today. We saved x number of children! And made sure that a lot of them would grow up in poverty and/or foster homes. None of which we'll do a damn thing to fix.
also ngl we did give American Jews a genocidal ethnostate where they can go and use American gun turrets to eradicate brown people for believing in a different version of their sky man fairy tale.
