A very small part of me was afraid HBO would go for mass appeal and cast Betty White as the Queen of Thorns. So glad that didn't happen.
So who else is left to cast, Edmure, Ramsey, Belwas, Daario and anybody else major I am not thinking of? I assume the Red Viper and them will be held till the next season
Would have been all wrong. I like Betty White, but not as QoT. Yeah, sometimes they cast younger so there's a smaller chance of them croaking midway through production.
not that I'm complaining, but I find it funny that Missandei is like 10 years old in the books and they cast her as the hottest girl in the new season.
Kristofer Hivju joins the cast as Tormund Giantsbane, a famed wildling warrior loyal to Mance Rayder. The Norwegian actor recently appeared in The Thing and has a role in M. Night Shyamalan's upcoming film, After Earth. Philip McGinley joins the cast as Anguy, an archer in Beric's Brotherhood Without Banners. The English actor has a few stage credits and recently appeared in Prometheus, but he is perhaps better known for his roles inThe Gemma Factor and Coronation Street. Tara Fitzgerald joins the cast as Selyse Baratheon, the wife of Stannis Baratheon. She will make her first appearance in season 3, even though her character was introduced in the second book. The English actress is an award-winning stage veteran, with several roles in recent British TV, including Jane Eyre and Walking the Dead. Tobias Menzies joins the cast as Edmure Tully, Catelyn's brother and acting lord of Riverrun. He will make his first appearance in season 3, even though his character appears numerous times through the first and second books. The English actor is best known for his role as Brutus in HBO's Rome. He also has several film credits, notably Casino Royale, Atonement, and Finding Neverland. Anton Lesser joins the cast as Qyburn, a former maester who was notoriously stripped of his chains. Qyburn briefly served Roose Bolton in the second book, before becoming prominent in later appearances. The English actor is noted for his stage and radio credits, though he also has several British TV show credits.
I'm really excited to see the show's portrayal of the Brotherhood Without Banners and the Brave Companions.
He was the dude that Spoiler was fucking around with all those dead bodies down in the dungeons at King's Landing right? I always got a creepy vibe from him when he would ask for more "experiments". Plus this picture doesn't help his cause...
Spoiler i'm talking about his appearance. Appearance He is tall, slightly stooped with crinkles around his blue eyes[1] (or warm, brown eyes [2]). He has grey hair, a lean frame, and looks fatherly.[3] According to Cersei Lannister he looks like some little girl's favorite grandfather.[4]
Interested in how they'll play that. Spoiler Dany went a long time not knowing who he was and you know show folks are going to be reading show casts and all that and figure it out quickly
Yeah, I get that. I was just mainly talking about his actions and the way he presents himself. You are thinking of a completely different person.
what? No I'm not. I'm speaking of Arstan Spoiler aka Barristan the Bold. In the books nobody knew who he was until he revealed himself. In the show that will be harder to pull off.
I'm not sure if it's been discussed in this thread so far but Martin is not going to write that one scene. Yall know what it is if you've read the book. I was surprised by this news.
I wonder what episode he is taking. It seems to be a trend of him writing the 9th episode so one can only speculate since they are splitting this season up into two.
Kind of a random thought: I kind of wish the show runners had titled the show Ice and Fire instead of Game of Thrones. I have no issue with the Game of Thrones title, but it does irk me a little bit that GoT has taken over the identity of the series. Pretty soon only the faggiest of bookfags will know what A Song of Ice and Fire is.
In all seriousness, this can only be a good thing for the show considering what their storyline entails for season 3.
