I'm currently watching Season 1 and it's the 3rd episode. They are talking about how the Mad king killed Ned's father and brother. Can anyone explain the back story to that please? Like why were his last words, "burn every one" and why did he torture the Stark family?
He burnt them bitches bc they demanded a trial by combat bc Reagar ran off with Neds sister. Aerys named his champion fire, trolollol.
He probably said burn everyone because he was crazy as shit. If you read about Targ history you'll see a bunch of them go crazy and end up burning shit up. Probably has to do with all the inbreeding.
You learn more about what happened later on.
you know nothing Pawpride
Not much but this is better than nothing.
Probably reading too much into it, but Tywin saying "This is a plot...." has me worried.
I would love to have that guy's job.
even spoilered that probably shouldn't be in this thread.
yeah i agree
dont even spoiler that stuff
not season 3 related, but this seems to be the most active thread on the board so i'll put it here. For anyone looking to pick up Season 2 on Blu Ray, FYE has a great pre-order price ($27.99)
Fuzzy Zoeller , delete that shit, yo.
I deleted it.
never trust a bookfag
Personally I think a showfag would have to be an idiot to click a spoiler but w/e.
This. It's like the mom tells the kid who likes surprises where his Christmas presents are hidden; the kid then goes and opens them ahead of time and blames his mom.
If you can't control your mouse to not accidentally click "Spoiler" then get off the damn interwebs.
Yeah, but didn't we agree somewhere along the line that the Open Discussion thread would be without bookfag spoilers?
I could see if there was one thread, but we have a whole board. keep the book shit in the book threads and the show threads should be spoiler free. there's no point posting it.
His post was about the show. I don't see what the fucking problem is here.
the problem is needlessly spoiling a major event that will happen this season for showfags. bookfags have their own thread if they want to discuss what will happen in the show this season. this thread is for people who haven't read the books mostly so there's no reason for spoilers.
So people who have read the books aren't allowed to partake in the open discussion about season 3 of HBO's show? Hmm.
sure you can just don't spoil shit for people who haven't read the books. if you want to discuss future plotlines do it in the bookfag show thread. it's really not complicated.
this. its really not that hard to understand
Silly me, I thought the /spoiler tag was for that very purpose.
for minor things that's fine, but for a plot point like the one that was in here, you're just asking to ruin the season for someone.
No, the person who hasn't read to that point and still clicks on "Spoiler" is asking to ruin the season for him- or herself.
the spoiler function is used for way more that just spoilers on this site. people use it as a way to post pics, link articles, deliver jokes. it's not like it's impossible for someone to think it's something harmless in the spoiler.
whatever though I've wasted too much time on something this stupid anyway. if you really feel the need to exercise your right to spoiler shit then go right ahead. I just don't see the need. especially when there's such a good chance you're going to ruin something for someone that has the potential to be great television.
You shouldn't have clicked on this.
what part dont you understand? the core concept?
The butthurt over Fuzzy Zoeller 's post.
Kougar quit being a douche shit man
I get what you're saying, but spoilers are used very, very liberally on here, plus I'm pretty sure people agreed not to talk about major plot points in the open thread, that's all.
so I haven't seen anything related to Belwas being on the show, did I miss something or am I allowed to freak out?
They didn't cast Belwas. No idea why.
not watching then
He might be integrated into another character? Not sure.
Perhaps "/spoiler" isn't descriptive enough to protect people from themselves.
I submit to the admins that we change the bbs tag to [dontclickthisifcontextcluestellyoutheinformationpostedheremayruinafutureeventforyou] [/dontclickthisifcontextcluestellyoutheinformationpostedheremayruinafutureeventforyou]
As someone who was a showfag last year and became a bookfag over the summer, spoilers about future plot points in the show thread is fucking stupid. We have a thread for every book + a thread to discuss the show for users who have read the books. If you want to post something based off a discussion in here, just tell people to move over to the bookfag thread. It's not that hard. And I never even clicked on the spoilers, but there's a thread for us who've read the books, so just go there.
That's just it, though: Fuzzy Zoeller 's post would have made no sense in the book threads. Its only place was here, so he put it here and spoilered it.
There's a show thread for book readers.
Lame. Can't showfags and bookfags and everyone in between just get along as one giant GoT kingdom?
Also, Prometheus sucked. Just FYI.
I hate all who haven't read the books. I kind of agree on prometheus but it doesn't suck as bad as aaron eckhart fyi
The lack of Strong Belwas is very annoying.
