As I said previously, my wife just started watching the show. Having watched from the beginning, I've taken a page out of the Varys playbook and devised a way to use my knowledge to my advantage. Either I get sexy time on demand or I will start with the spoilers. At first it will be small stuff, like "Theon gets his ween chopped off" and "Sansa marries Tyrone". Then it's on to bigger stuff like who dies and how. I see absolutely no drawbacks to this plan. I'm 100% sure it will go swimmingly and not have any repercussions.

The Meeren story line sucks, it's pretty simple. As a bookfag, I struggled trying to remember the 50 new weird sounding names like Hizdar Zo Loraq(the guy who asked to reopen the fighting pits) and constantly found myself bored with the direction Martin was taking Dany. This actually might be one of the areas where the show can improve on the book if they cut out some useless stuff.
Maybe I'm just being a cunt, but I don't like the casting of Jaqen H'ghar. I love the character, but not a fan of that actor for the role. Can't put my finger on it, but he bothers me.
To each his own I guess. I think he's perfect for the role and his accent is fitting. For a secondary character, they did a good job. Now having a 5'10 guy playing a supposed 6'6 badass in Robert Baratheon was a casting error, but I understand it's hard finding good actors that fit Robert's size.

It wasn't covered in the show, but when Joffrey got into an altercation with the people in the streets (and Sansa almost got raped), Lollys got raped by like 50 guys and ended up mothering a bastard. She's damaged goods.
Worst casting by far was renly and Loras. The whole point in the books was that they were badasses that happened to be gay, thus breaking the stereotype. HBO just made them total faggots.
except for the explicit gayness I thought the way he was depicted in the show was pretty much the same as the books. in the books he really never had any moments of strength that the show left out. maybe the peach? I don't think he ever even picked up a sword. even his own Maester never took him seriously as king.

Granted he did a good job with the part, if we're nitpicking people not fitting the handsome devil master race description from the books then Jeoffrey was also a mistake in casting. He was supposedly a big gorgeous fellow not a scrawny mad nerd that has a face of a mouse eating bad cheese. Gotta accept the fact that there's just not enough brad Pitts and nic cages in the world
Renly was a mirror image of a younger Robert though, tall and muscular. Just not as good of a fighter as Robert was. A lot more charisma in the books also. That is why he had so many who wanted him as king instead of Stannis. Loras was a legit (tourney)fighter and showed it in the books.
Renly was tall but not nearly as muscular as Robert (not as tall as him either). I think bitching about that casting is really nitpicking and all you're really bitching about was the overt homosexuality.
I remember initially I was 'upset' about the Robert casting because he was short and far from imposing. Then I got over it because like was just said its hard to find good actors. I always hated the Renly casting (though the actor was fine) just because Renly was big and looked the part. Show Renly just looked completely soft and wimpy. The Loras casting was fine to me as he was always a pretty boy.
I'm also hoping things start to heat up in Mereen with everyone else. I mean they have to know that Daenerys is one of if not the most popular/liked character in the show. (besides tyrone obv). So I'm gonna hold out hope that we see some good old fashioned death and destruction in Mereen before too long. Spoiler: was in a trailer so not really spoiler the first trailer showed her and fabio and a few unsullied surrounded by people in a gladiator style fighting pit so it's safe to assume they reopen those eventually But I'd really like to not hate her storyline. Hopefully those immortals from 300 keep fucking up unsullied and light a fire under her pussified ass. feel like she thrives on people disrespecting her / trying to come at her and has gotten soft since she got to Mereen and everyone is all Mysa Mysa Lady here's hoping. Don't really care about the castings since they are minor characters. It seems like they just like to show male asses for the female viewers or to even out all the tits maybe. I have faith that if they did a Robert's Rebellion movie, they would cast Robert perfectly.

Don't have many 6'6 fit actors that can actually act. Hell, you have a 6'3 or above guy play that part.but they'd likely have to find an unknown guy. Nobody really comes to mind in Hollywood.
Daenerys and the whole Meereen storyline is carrying this season, and to a lesser degree, Arya. Bookfags this post is for you. I only care about like 5 of the major story lines and characters, could not possibly give less of a shit about the other 25.

Isn't her hiding the sword so she can find it again her way of not completely giving up who she is/was?
Aryas story line is my favorite. Don't give two flying fucks about what's going on in Kings Landing now whereas that used to be the best part of the show. All the good characters left.
So Bran hasn't made an appearance in 3 eps. What gives @hodor @hodor... Is gone too? This can't be good Just at a point where pretty much everyone is spread out over the map. So they can't spend a ton of time in any one place to make that particular story advance enough to get invested. At what point is Team Stannis gonna become a thing? If he runs a train on Winterfell / gets Snow to flip Vegas will surely make him the favorite
