one other thing Spoiler apparently Robin Arryn's health problems also cause him to age more quickly than other characters.
Should use the thread that was created for those who have watched the leaks. Others won't be getting to the stuff you are discussing for another 3 weeks.
I have no idea whether its a bookfag or showfag thread. Do we need 4 threads for the current season of the same show when we have a spoilers tag for just this purpose?
The leak has created a bit of a weird situation. Most people will probably wait to watch the episodes on a weekly basis so I just don't want anything to get spoiled for anyone. You have been spoilering everything so that is cool but I just don't want someone slipping up and ruining anything for people who are still waiting to watch. Just my opinion. I don't have a problem so long as people are careful about what they discuss, I had just noticed the other thread and thought it might be easier for those who have watched to openly discuss in there instead of tip toeing around in this thread with a bunch of spoilers.
HBO wins this round. This is kind of a tricky area because, as we saw with the night's king, there is the potential for the show to spoil the books. But there is also the possibility of what I'll call the anti-spoiler for the show. By that I mean that as a book reader, you know how things are supposed to go. If I say that things don't contradict what you expect, then I've taken away the possibility for the unexpected. All that being said, I'll spoiler the rest of this even though I won't mention any specifics of what does or doesn't happen. I won't talk about Tyrion ass fucking Stannis or Zombie Ned's epic battle with Zombie Dunk. More of a very very general how closely does the first 4 episodes hew to the books, whether there are major (in my estimation) differences, and whether someone should watch ahead. Spoiler For the most part the "oh shit" moments that happen are those things that book readers already expect. As I've already said, there is a ton of divergence from the books in the show, but it isn't things that spoil the big moments. Maybe its shit that plays into larger things, or things you've speculated about, or things you've guessed from the trailers, but nothing that has any meaning right now. It might spur some discussion about how it might support your pet theory, or how it bridges to a later moment you already know about, but nothing is given away. If it does end up leading anywhere, it would be like reading about the Walder's playing the lord of the crossing game in Winterfell. It was something that tied in to a big moment, but you would have had no way of knowing at the time. All that being said, the fourth episode ends on an unexpected to readers cliff hanger that may or may not end up being something big, and if you go ahead and watch as I did, you've got a month before you get a resolution.
watch all 4 now in shitty SD then have to wait another month to get the next episode or watch one a week in HD? not that tough a decision to me.
I was doing a rewatch for season 4 and shitty ass Charter seems to always have one episode per series only in SD. So fucking annoying.
So we know a few book characters won't be in this season but have we heard a confirmation on sir pounce

Not going to watched the leaked episodes. (a) I love Sunday nights when the show is on because it feels like an event. (b) Not HD? No thanks, I'm ok. Plus I have waited almost a year for a new episode. Don't really feel like shooting my wad and not getting the next episode until May.
Can't remember. Did Jon shoot Mance in the books? Also we've past were Briene and Pod are in the books too, correct?
Yes. Basically The pink letter and fAegon theories are all done now. Mance is dead and fAegon isn't important.
He gave the order (prefer this version) & yes with no Lady stoneheart we're pretty much going into the ocean with no navigator in terms of that story.
That's a great moment at the wall... Fucking fire bitch in black had me hard for half of that episode. Excited to see everyone turn on Dany... I don't really care what they spoil or how they adapt the books, but the changes they make will ruin the books for a lot of people that have spent their days speculating on Aegon, what happens to Jaime after he meets Stoneheart, etc.
The fact that fAegon was written out is kind of surprising to me. Also not a goddamn word about they Greyjoys.
Ultimately, I think it's just too much bull shit for a TV series... It's too much for the fucking books obviously, so streamlining is what we will just have to see... That doesn't mean Aegon won't play a significant role in the books, but he's obviously not going to sit the Iron Throne if he isn't even mentioned in the TV series. Doesn't mean he won't be part of a giant civil war with his aunt... Same for Greyjoy, they are obviously important in the books, but not vital enough to waste hours on introducing them on the show. There's an easier and quicker way in the show runners' minds to have Dany gain control of her dragons AND make her way to Westeros.
They sure seemed to show a whole lot of Tormund Giantsbane during the burning. I think the swap is still in play
Forgot about that change, but yeah, whatever happens to Jaime in Dorne will be how it plays out with LSH in the books.
Maggie the frog looked like OSHA.... But we didn't hear the 3rd phrophecy, doesn't Cersie go back for that one- and that one is that her brother kills her? Without anything to back that up I think it'll be Jamie
I was just getting ready to hit the streaming sites cuz I don't like to mess with the torrance and I saw that the first 4 episodes are streaming there as well. I hope people that watch ahead don't spoil anything for the people waiting. http://www.tvstreaming.cc/watch.php?v=uLPjkfaAdYA
i think so. he acted very mance like while burning. westeros.org describes the book scene as "Mance's courage fails and he goes to his death begging for mercy, denying his kingship and his name and shrieking of witchcraft."
