For tv, it's smart writing. Not a single non-reader I asked had wondered why they didn't sail around the Wall. Conversely, they all appreciated the tension of Jon waiting on the gate to open.
This is my point. Who gives a shit if they could have sailed around? Why does thus matter in the least bit? Watching them walk up the wall is much better television than them sailing around.

well Winterfell was the first time we knew anything about him in the show. obviously they don't flesh out characters the same way the books do. it's more about Littlefinger and the way he values information, whether it be in the show or the book. he doesn't make a move blind. especially not when that move involves everything Sansa means to him.
1)is a show, movie, or series of books at least moderately popular? if yes, then there is fan fic if no, then there is still probably fan fic I bet there is some damn foul slash out there for this series given how many characters there are out there.
Yeah, and they think Theon is responsible for the sacking of Winterfell. There isn't any reason for Littlefinger to suspect Ramsey is crazy.

Doesn't Littlefinger tell Sansa or someone else that he's successful because he takes crazy risks? I wouldn't put past Littlefinger to set up Sansa there even if he knew about Ramsey. I wouldn't put anything past him.
I wonder if they kill Myrcella. That holds true to the book somewhat and instead of just slicing her face they just kill her.
my guess is that if they're gonna do a dornish "plot", doran is gonna plan to get the marriage going then kill tommen which would make tristayne the ruler of the seven kingdoms.
I'm actually surprised he didn't insist on the marriage occurring before releasing Myrcella. I wouldn't want to leave that up to the Lannisters
why wouldn't it? sure, myrcella would be the one with the claim, but her husband would actually rule.

Yeah, I'm fine with having a problem with Littlefinger being so cavalier with his best bargaining chip assuming he didn't know anything about Ramsay. I just don't think it's crazy to accept that Littlefinger didn't know about Ramsay in the first place; Sansa and Robb didn't, and they'd know far more about individual northern lords than Littlefinger, regardless of how much he covets information in general.

technically, stannis is a traitor and rebel. he is out. myrcella would have the best claim to the throne. especially given that she has the potential to birth male heirs that would be descendants (as far as most people think) of Robert. edit: stannis also refers to shireen as his heir. how can she be his heir and myrcella (secret bastardy aside) not be robert's if joff and tommen are dead?
Most of the houses go by this: Andal Succession A daughter before an uncle. It is the same as male-preference cognatic primogeniture. Pretty much all Houses with the exception of the Dornish and Targaryens follow Andal succession laws. In this form the eldest legitimate son inherits followed by that son's descendants. A daughter can inherit if she has no living legitimate brothers, and those brothers have no heirs. A younger sibling inherits only if his elder sibling died without any descendants.
obviously we're dealing with hypotheticals, but do you really think they would crown Myrcella and then she would be pushed aside for Trystane to rule as king? wouldn't Myrcella still be the one ultimately in charge? it would all come down to who had the power and support, but your notion that Trystane would marry Myrcella and automatically become ruler of the Seven Kingdoms is what I think is silly.
Lysa arryn, lady hornwood, Sansa, arya, the karstark girl, etc are all highly valued marriage prospects because their husband would rule over their wife's lands.
its hard to consider the baratheons a dynasty since they've only been around since aegon's conquest and the house was started by marrying the sole female heir to house durrandon.

with stannis a traitor, the only other baratheon is a female. the lannisters only claim is through myrcella. if they don't support her, they have no claim.
Isn't he a bastard regardless since Rheagar and Lyanna weren't married? I can't see a Lannister Baratheon held throne legitimizing him, so he'd have to take the throne by force and some how figure shit out with Dany, or just marry her I guess.
