There's no way Littlefinger doesn't pull some horrendous shit at some point, he's cast his lot with a side whose leaders pretty much detest him. Jon straight up hates him, Sansa belittles him at almost every turn, and I can't wait 'til Bran calls him out. If the Starks come out as the victors, how much is he really gonna gain from it? His ambitions are higher than what the Starks would be prepared to reward him with. I don't know what his play will be, but it'd be stupid to underestimate him.
The Blackfish was great, yes. Mance Rayder in the books is a great one too. TV version never really clicked for me.
All he has to offer is support of the Eyrie (via the little tit sucking twerp Robin), which is a "southern" region. Though Jon doesn't seem as keen to invade and take southern territory as Robb was. Robb made himself king of the North, the Eyrie and the Riverlands. Jon just wants to be left alone to brood and kill albino zombies.
What do the Dothraki get if Dany wins the war? Do they stay in Westeros and become lords? That doesn't seem like what they would want.
He's running out of moves on the chess board. I could see his character going out in flames or even cowardly escaping with no return. I don't a in between for him. Curious where the show goes with it. I'm hoping for him to make one final power move only for a Stark to end him
After thinking about this I wonder if the knights under his command would follow if he tried to leave and forge a different alliance (like with the Lannister's). He might not have another play elsewhere. I could see them refusing to follow his commands at some point.
Winter is coming and you have to put leather on breast plates in order to make sure people don't get their tongue stuck to the metal. You can't fight with your tongue stuck to the metal. Everybody knows that.
Anyone have any idea what Mel meant/knows when she told Varys that she has to die in this strange county, just like him? He looked very shook afterwards.
I imagine they would want to go home with some slaves and plunder. The conquest is all they care about imo.
I think that is a given. I just meant do you think her knowledge of where he "has to die" means he plays into some prophecy? Or was it simply a scene to show again how much Varys dislikes the red witch/blood magic?
This isn't the first time this has happened. The other Red Priestess they met (Minvara or something) before coming to Westeros made him shit his pants as well. They all reference the night he became a eunuch. They say that as the sorcerer threw his bits in the fire, a voice in the flames called out to him. Varys gets frightened by the Priestesses because they remind him of whatever was in that fire. Varys knows what was said but has probably tried to bury it so much that he didn't believe it. Varys also told his origin and revenge tactic to Tyrion when he had captured his sorcerer. Varys still has a role to play. We just don't know what it is yet.
I took it to mean that she has seen his death in the flames, and he didn't like hearing about it very much.
Does anybody else know how he ended up in the water besides Euron and his men? Some would think he was smart for saving his life, others (ironborn, dothraki) would think he should have charged no matter the odds.
Euron admitted a few ships escaped. I'm sure one of them doubled back after some time. He definitely didn't live up to the Ironborn code.
Duh, the Iron Islands. Euron is away and distracted. He could sneak in there with a handful of people and take the castle for himself. It's his one skill.
didn't think of this, it wouldn't last long but he could probably do it almost all the fighting age men are probably with Euron now
Hadn't really thought about that but maybe let them go back to essos and roam around doing their thing until they're needed. Can't really have them roaming around westeros pillaging. Or maybe they're just so loyal to her that some stick around with her.
He told the captain of the ship that saved him that he tried to save Yara but failed and he said something like "if you had tried, you wouldn't be standing here", So sounds like they have an idea
Wonder if somehow Jon can convince the knights of the vale help out Dany? Don't know how much of help a bunch of cavalry north of the wall would be during the long winter.
I bet Jon takes him north of the wall to fight the white walkers, or he somehow sacrifices himself to save Sansa. I honestly don't know what purpose he serves now other than to have his meat shield sacrifice moment.
Exactly, it's too soon to get rid of such a good character, especially to do it the week after getting rid of the Queen of Thorns.
The Last Words of a Legend “I’d hate to die like your son. Clawing at my neck, foam and bile spilling from my mouth, eyes blood red, skin purple. Must have been horrible for you, as a Kingsguard, as a father. It was horrible enough for me. A shocking scene. Not at all what I intended. You see, I had never seen the poison work before. Tell Cersei. I want her to know it was me.”
There's some serious faggotry on this page. If you've read the fucking spoilers, you don't get to play theories for this season anymore. You know who you are.
I think I'll avoid these threads for a while. The same shit happened with Westworld, some people were dead on with their theories and it took the surprise away. This is worse since the script has actually been leaked; some people really can't stave off their curiosity.
Wish I could moderate portions of this thread. It's seriously unfair to have someone come in here and flaunt knowledge that they couldn't exercise self-control in receiving. You don't have to impart any of it on others. A lot of people, even in the TV thread, are readers that have waited 2 fucking decades for story arcs. For what it's worth, I'm not against the inherent nature of searching those spoilers out for yourself and just vaguely saying "this is something we wanted and I can't wait to see it on screen". Leave it at that.
