So what happens to Drogon? Can’t imagine he will be happy.
I can honestly say that the show probably won’t care to explain it. He’ll fuck off to Asshai or something.
Dick falls off.. becomes a soldier under grey worm. Dies after the gout cripples him after a hike up a mountain. Froze into block... tough scene
This is basically what I’m expecting.
According to the leaks Jon kills Dany and Drogon carries her off into the sunset in his mouth.
Anybody perplexed how Dany gained the power to raise the dead. Based on this episode and the preview for next week seems like she didn't really lose much of her army to the NK other than Jorah.
It makes sense. Cinematography and scoring have been the north star for them for two seasons. Pick a cool looking scene and then twist everything to get there.
Turns out those dothraki with the flaming swords just ran into a bit of rain. Were hunkered down waiting for it to pass and plumb missed the battle.
Yeah the score was good. Did an ok job of building tension at the start without being too much like Dunkirk.
Either they're going to say the wildfire was left there to boobytrap the city which was an idea used in a little known series of books called the hunger games, or they'll be smart and say Dany's dumbass ignited the underground stores of leftover wildfire.
Alright, I’m still holding out that D&D subverts my expectations by having
- Dany kill Jon and sit on the Iron throne in the end with her being pregnant
Do it D&D! one last giant F.U. to everyone. I wanna see mad queen Dany rule in the end. Have some balls and do it you fucking cowards
Every time I think about the episode I get more disappointed. I was fine with the shortcuts and oversights that led up to this. They were at least acceptable even though it was obvious they were rushing.
But now I'm thinking about things like how Euron got an undeserved death scene and Arya shouldn't have even been in the episode and Jamie's character arc had a chance to be so good but was so so bad. Grey Worm is now murdering people so I guess he's a targ too?
Nothing adds up in a show that I loved because how calculated it's always been.
Yep. This is one of the most self indulgent seasons of any show, ever. D&D seem more concerned about being known as the guys who can film the most incredible show.
Also guys, I’m not sure D&D are the ones who should be creating a show about what would have happened if the South won the Civil War.
We are destined for thirty minute scenes of beautifully filmed Klan rally’s.
Maybe since they won't have intricate books to mess up, it'll have lowered expectations and be perceived better? That's I'll I've got.
I just read the spoilers and honestly I don't know if I am even going to watch the finale.
I’m going to watch just so I know when it’s safe to laugh at those who don’t have a clue what’s about to happen
I absolutely cannot wait to see if the no spoilers thread will try to defend what’s coming.
Why? They've been telegraphing this all season. The best ruler is one who doesn't want to rule at all.
I just love (but really, hate) the way Varys contradicted himself with that statement.
Don't be mad at me because you were really dumb about the whole Mad Queen angle
I read the spoilers a while ago so I knew it was coming. The beat us over the head with the she's not her father shit. I probably overstated that the mad queen shit came out of nowhere but in reality it was completely rushed and that's watching while knowing it was on the horizon.
I will not argue that they executed anything well this season.
Except for Qyburn lol
Quoted from the TV thread.
“So that whole Tyrion and Bran “lets have a chat” scene that was skipped, no payoff there, or did I already miss it?”
Boy, people sure are going to struggle to process this last episode.
I mean fucking Bran is going to win the throne.
If I'm being completely honest with myself, the only thing I'm truly going to be upset with at the series ends next week is Dany not be able to have another child
- They beat us over the head about her not being able to have anymore children after the witch betrayed her in S1
- It was always at the back of her mind, her dragon were her only children
- Then S7 comes along and teases us with the Dany/Jon union and even reinforces the possibility that she might be wrong about not having children when talking with Jon in the Dragon Pit
Even if she didn't win the Game of Thrones, I was holding out hope that she would at least be able to have a child to pass on a legacy to. Her going mad, I was willing to accept, the possibility of Jon killing her in the end to fulfill the Azora Ahai prophecy, I was willing to accept.
I just wanted her to have some semblance of happiness to give to this world before tragic events cruelly took her away from it. Alast, it was not meant to be in this story and I am truly hurt by that. I honestly feel like an emotional wreck thinking about it because I knew GRRM stated that his ending would be bittersweet but to me, this is all bitterness.
TL;DR: I fantasy booked and I hate myself for it currently
When the sun sets in the West and mountains turn to dust yadda yadda
Part of me feels like this is a troll be GRRM on D&D and HBO.
GRRM: *Tells D&D the most ridiculous and ill contrived ending he can possibly come up with in his head.*
D&D: "Sounds great! It's going to be EPIC!"
GRRM: *Wait, they're actually going to do it? No way. I'm going to let this train ride.*
Next Monday GRRM announces his ending to the series will be very different than the show. Profit. (Well, actually no profit, because he will never write the goddamn books.)
I know the show doesn't really pay attention to timelines but there's no way they could have ever fit a full-term pregnancy into the span in which these events took place
Oh this show has been going downhill for years.
I’d been happy if it happened after. Gives birth, goes mad, Jon kills her
Varys was executed rather well
They even fucked that up visually. Should’ve shown how horrific it is to have your entire being burned instantly into a basketball sized pile of ash. First five seasons wouldn’t have hesitated to show the reality.
I think they covered that adequately over the course of the episode.. had to save that stuntman budget for the firesuits
The first part makes me think you’re serious and the second part makes me think you’re being sarcastic. I’m going with the second part and a like.
If you told me beforehand that having Drogon pull off the Randall Boggs would have been as visually pleasing as it was, I'd call you a liar.
It’s obviously pointless now but Dany had a miscarriage at the end of ADWD.
Iirc she had 12k unsullied to start with and they lost half or whatever at winterfell
No it wasn't
They also fucked it up that scene with Tyrion. He was so out of character in that scene IMO
He wasn't left alive after the execution, was he?
Hi my name is Rod, and I like to party.
I feel like at this point they are tripping over their feet trying to figure out ways to not give anyone what they want. If it plays out like the spoilers say it’s gonna be so incredibly disappointing because of how this is all fell.
Bran as king? Might be cool if he weren’t reduced to an autist in a wheelchair over the course of this season
Small council of
Tyrion: Reduced to ashes on this show
Davos: Whatever, he was once cool but this season hasn’t really reminds us of that. Maybe they will.
Sam: This character suffered a lot from the battle of winterfell. He should’ve went to the crypts(lol) like Tyrion for the same reasons. Instead he cried and ran in a way that deserved a laugh track after Edd died.
Just a king and a council of meh
Jon taking the black wouldn’t be miserable if he hadn’t been torn down over and over since he’s been resurrected, he’s needed a moment to make him look somewhat heroic and if that moment is supposed to be killing Dany then that moment is not only too late but also something he’s gonna be practically forced into. What a horrible disappointment.
All of this just seems like disappointing the viewer for the sake of it if it plays out like it is in my head and like honestly we should expect.
