I would like to point out that it was a stupid decision to have Lord Umber go back up North, just send a raven
“Nothing happened” in the sense that very little was revealed to the viewers/little plot accelerated The rushed part (at least for me) is a reference to ticking off no less than five key emotional reunions in a single hour of TV, some of which we’ve been waiting several years for. Also what Baseballman86 said
You should probably wait and see them before you make that judgment then. You have no idea how much story is left.
Right, how dare they include a lot of things in one episode. Y’all are being baby back bitches about this.
Think about the things Jon and Arya have to talk about We got a two minute scene of Arya being like “yo I kill people now and also you better back sansa” then CUT TO NEXT REUNION SCENE
Jon was told the biggest secret on the show. If the episode was just that clip of that happening then that would have been enough plot revealed.
I meant plot to the viewer. We’re well aware of this information now, it’s been utilized three or so times for dramatic effect. I realize you have to actually show Jon’s reaction eventually but forgive me if it doesn’t have much weight anymore at this point.
It's technically 5 episodes, but the last 5 episodes average 75 minutes. The last 4 episodes are basically small movies. It could end up feeling rushed in the end, but episodes 3-6 aren't going to be like normal episodes over the first 7 seasons and a lot more is going to happen in each episode just because of that.
Jon’s gotta wish Sam just kept that to himself right? Just makes things so damn complicated for him. What’s he going to do the next time Dany tried to round third?
I think you can argue they could have done that scene better instead of kind of sticking it in somewhere towards the end of the episode and then leaving it sit there for other stuff. But you're suggesting the following "doesn't have much weight anymore"... - Jon finds out Ned isn't his dad... - ... that the person he thought was his dead aunt was his mother... - ... that he's the actual heir to the seven kingdoms instead of just some bastard... - ... and that the woman he's in love with and fucked up the Cersei meeting for is actually his niece or cousin or whatever the hell she is. That's kind of absurd.
I mean if you consider all those reunions nothing then OK. I think this show is about more than just some amazing fighting scenes and that the relationships built are important...
I loved the episode, but it didn’t move the plot forward in very many major ways. I’m not complaining, I’m laughing at people calling that “rushed”.
They are roughly the same age. Dany was born towards the end of the war on Dragonstone while Jon was born at the Tower of Joy while Robert was marching towards Kings Landing iirc
How does the blacksmith work into this? He is King Robberts son. Nothing since King Rob killed the mad king?
The whole Cersie/Bronn thing is odd with Lena Headey/Jerome Flynn having that thing in their contracts where they can't be in scenes together. I think about it every time now and actually thought they were going to put them together in this episode.
Good episode, but would've liked it better if it were the first of 10 instead of 6. Way too much fan service type stuff for how much time they have left, but still was great to see Jon and Arya reunite
the first episode of the first season featured 1. a boy climbing to a high place to watch the royal army march into Winterfell 2. Jaime and Bran having a fateful meeting the first episode of the final season featured...well you know.
