Go fuck yourself
My theory is that’s what the children of the forest did when they made the night king (the pic with the tree in the middle). I think that’s part of what made him when they stabbed him with the dragon glass so it’s like his symbol. The cave drawing could have been the CotF drawing it as that was supposed to be their ultimate weapon. Doesn’t really add up since they had pics of the white walkers in the same cave but who knows?
George is such a character
The Jon/Dany waterfall scene seemed to be a throwback to the Jon/Ygritte cave scene and we all know how that turned out for Ygritte
Not only is it unpopular it’s also terrible
I think people are bitching way too much. I've complained about the writing myself. The whole sacrifice a dragon to get a foot soldier for Cersei is some of the dumbest shit I've ever seen. Having said that this was a fine first episode to build things up and plant the seeds of internal conflict. Wait until they actually do something worth fucking up before you start your bitching
Meant to post that in the book thread.
oh god this is gonna be so true now
Also knew Jaime was coming. Forgot that one.
Stop being insufferable bitches. We’ve waited over 500 days for the show to come back, and some folks have waited two decades for this story to finish. Just enjoy the moment and then complain once it’s complete.
The more I think about the episode, the only thing I don't like/get is...
You've building to the Jon Snow back story for 7 seasons. It's the single-most important thing about any remaining character on the show. You're building up this relationship with Dany in large part to drop this bomb on everyone. So how does the episode not end with Jon finding out this information, walking out of the crypts and seeing Dany standing there? Maybe it doesn't matter in the end, but just seems like that moment got shortchanged.
I think they went for a lot of parallels to S1E1, one of which is it ending on a scene with Jaime and Bran. If that’s your only complaint, it seems minor.
I generally enjoyed the episode but the number one thing I didn’t like was how they handled Jon’s parentage reveal. That moment should stand on its own and to have the Tarly nonsense shoehorned into it was cheap drama imo. I’m fine with Sam needed time to process this (even if his father was a one of the biggest pieces of shit in Westeros and they planted no seeds that Dickon and Sam we’re close) but very little of what Sam was saying made sense. He’s intentionally undermining the partnership of Dany and Jon and based off of past actions comes off like a hypocrite. I’m actually glad that Jon was able to defend Dany while making sense.
Also, if we go by promos I bet one of the first scenes in episode 2 will be Dany seeking out Jon in the crypts.
I'm a fucking cunt of cunts and I've been cunty towards this show before, but that was a good episode.
So I was wondering if the elephants are so her monsters have something to ride
"poor girl, pox will take her within the year"
So is Martin still going to finish the books even with the show bypassing whatever he might have had planned?
I agree that the scene and dialogue were cheesy but I disagree with the whole “she had no reason to believe...” regarding jon riding the dragon. The dragon clearly showed favor to Jon and even though she didn’t know the real reason why, it wasn’t a stretch for her to be at a point where she was comfortable with him riding one.
Like pretty much every episode of last season, last night was pretty mediocre.
This was the best season premiere Game of Thrones has had. Best line "That fucking family"
Best reunion Ayra and the Hound.
Did anybody else think for just a second that Sam was going to tell Dany about her and Jon in the room before he even told had the chance to tell Jon?
Also, this is the best recap you are going to see/watch. These 3 (in particular the guy on the right) are so knowledgeable and go through things step by step. Already been watched by 3 million people since 11pm last night
Premiere was ok, had decent parts & others I didn't like which have already been discussed. I thought the pacing of the episode felt better. So much of Season 7 felt rushed, the pacing of the episode felt closer to the older episode (not talking quality).
Just a nit ...
I think Dany, etc thought dragons were invincible prior to last season. Have a hard time with her anticipating the Night King was a 3x gold medalist in the javelin, when she was skeptical he existed.
Until Alt-shift X gets theirs up
Nope. This one us better bruh. Watch it
One thing that hasn’t been discussed much is the weapon Arya is having Gendry craft for presumably her.
Looked like a spear with a dragon glass tip.
It made me wonder if maybe Bran is working through his sisters a bit.
what monsters? She has the mountain who was riding a horse before he was a reanimated ghoul.
The rest are just normal Queen's Guard soliders that she had at her side when she first took the throne.
its going to have the valryian dagger (cats paw) that she killed littlefinger with on the tip of a dragon glass spear
They didn’t go into their relationship on the show but in the books Dickon lives up to his name and is a bigger asshole than his father. Should have had him badgering Sam at the table with his dad last season. On a side note I didn’t realize Dickon was the same actor that’s in Umbrella Academy until I did a rewatch.
Disagree, I don’t see the benefit of having an obsidian shaft. If anything it’ll make the weapon weaker.
why is there 2 season 8 threads, its too confusing. Mods can you combine the 2 please
go to the 11:40 mark, its going to be the dagger
Sorry I should have been clearer, no issue with the dagger. Don’t think the shaft will be made of obsidian.
This got done I guess?
No sir not yet
one is a spoiler thread and one is a TV thread
One thread, based on the title, contains spoilers for all six episodes.
This one discusses the season on an episode by episode basis.
Two threads is good.
