"Bruce Pearl and Auburn turned down the CBI and I was told the league discourages SEC teams from playing in that wretched tournament." http://www.gatorsports.com/article/...4?Title=Dooley-No-racket-on-bracket-this-year Pat Dooley of The Gainesville Sun mentioned that today. Maybe it wasn't all Pearl although I agree with the sentiment that they need the practice and game experience.
It's allowable by NCAA rules last time I heard. It's just very rarely ever used because who the fuck wants to practice after your season is over? I've only ever seen one team do it and that was a soccer team.
How much alcohol and blow wouldus SEC bros have to do until we imagined a scenario where USC would score 93? I'm admittedly drunk but shocked. Congrats to all who advanced and I will use today as a counterpoint to whenever bertwing complains about 09 Florida Arkansas football. Also congrats to Truman and other Mizzou fans for ending their nightmare and having a coach that can recruit.
SEC would be undefeated in Fisher-Davis hadn't committed one of the dumbest fouls in the history of basketball
Would feel bad for a lotta kids in that spot but not a shithead like him. Any SEC thoughts on our matcup or others in general? I follow hoops besides us way less than I should.
UF vs. UVA is surely going to be a miserable game to watch. I'd give the Hoos the edge even though the system they run is bad for the sport. I'm just glad there will be other games on when they play. If SCAR plays like they did tonight against Duke that game is going to be a barn burner. I can only that they play that well again. I don't forsee Arkansas having a chance against UNC but you never know. Should be a lot of points put up in that game. Kentucky is going to have to get their shit together if they want to beat Wichita State. That second half performance tonight was disgraceful. But survive and advance, that's ultimately what matters most. One can play like shit in the national title game, but if the other teams plays even shittier, still win that national championship.
Was at the game. Holy fuck that was so much fun. Place was so fucking loud. I have no voice left. That's the USC team the first half of the year when we punked both Michigan and Syracuse. Honestly, that was one of the funniest sporting events I've ever been too. Can't wait to play Duke. That whole arena will be behind us.
Biggest basketball game of the day was in Syracuse at 10 in the morning. The Rebs went up and beat Syracuse in the NIT. Giving the old curmudgeon Jim Boeheim a loss under any circumstances makes for a good day.
Congrats to our gamecock posters. Feels good to be a part of the best basketball conference in the country
Congrats Cocks, such a huge win for your program. Pretty strong showing from our conference in the tourney this year.
The Cocks did the American people a favor that's impact will be felt for generations, God bless you all.
He has done fairly well for a guy that started out as a night club bouncer and high school math teacher
Congrats to the Cocks. I just hope they and Florida win their next game to make it to the Elite 8. It's probably asking too much, but hopefully the conference as a whole will start getting more credit when March comes around. Maybe the days of getting only 3 bids to the tourney are over. On a completely random note after beating Syracuse, Ole Miss now has a .500 overall basketball record. You have to have a pretty crappy historical program to be below .500, but apparently we have been since the 1950s.
Fun trivia time: without searching, if you had to guess who the SEC's #2 winning percentage is - behind UK of course - who would be your guess? That's overall win pct, not just SEC.
