TV sched released. http://www.secsports.com/article/24732639/sec-announces-men-basketball-television-schedule
They return just about everyone, right? And add a top ten recruit? Dont think that's a ridiculous statement.
Who is supposed to be better this year in the league? There is some confidence out of our camp that we can make the dance again this year.
We should be improved from a talent standpoint, but it will be interesting to see if we can handle the schedule as well as we did last season.
I’m thinking this year is probably something like: UK / Tennessee Vandy / Florida / Auburn Bama? / Mizzou / LSU / A&M / SCAR / Miss St / Arky UGA / Ole Miss I don’t really know too much about everyone though just that Kentucky is always good and Tennessee will be good this year. I feel like LSU and maybe Arkansas can get up to that 2nd tier. Vandy may not quite be at that 2nd tier yet. I think the conference can get 10-11 teams in the dance though.
I'd have Mississippi State closer to/in the second tier. They should be quite good. If they're not, Howland's going to be in trouble.
Mizzou is trying to get waivers for their two guard transfers. If they're cleared, I think they're a tourney team. If not - woof. Zero ball handlers.
Still mad about Perry. He's gonna be good No idea what to expect from us. Would feel a lot better if Khalil Garland would get medically cleared for his irregular heartbeat issue but I doubt he ever does at this point. Outside of Gafford, we really don't have anyone that has played decent minutes of college basketball. So many unknowns for us, but a lot of talent.... just might take some time for them to gel.
Have we discussed Will Wade being taped offering compensation to Dawkins for Balsa Koprivica? https://sports.yahoo.com/zion-williamsons-kansas-recruitment-comes-hoop-scandal-trial-234727916.html
No Darius Garland is either a testament to how deep the league has gotten or just crazy. I think probably the latter
Frank Martin on how he told Chris Silva he made first team All SEC: "I said hey Chris, big news: you got voted the ugliest player in the league. Nah, you made first team All SEC. Congratulations"
Martin has sold our fans a bill of goods. "Look, all I'm saying is this is the most talented group of freshmen I've had here. Maybe even at K State. We return three guys with Final 4 experience. I have a really good feeling" etc etc Aka, the AD said fans are bitching because you lose out on every in state recruit. Better say something to sell tix
We must’ve just missed. I wish we could fire Mark Fox again. We scored 68 points per game last year, good for 301st in the nation. We lose Yante Maten from that offensive juggernaut. We don’t return a single player who averaged double digits last year. Georgia basketball, catch the excitement.
You have a first year head coach. What were you expecting? The roster isn’t completely devoid of talent right? Rayshaun Hammonds looked pretty good from what I remember. Think Avery wanted him pretty badly
I was joking. I have zero expectations for this year. We could go winless in the SEC, and it wouldn’t surprise me. Fox was wholly incapable of developing players. We have talent, but it regressed heavily as soon as it got on campus. If Crean pulls a total miracle, we could go .500 in conference. I think 13th is probably realistic. I just hope the result is more watchable than years past.
