Are you serious? We have Woodard and Perry as a solid nucleus. We redshirted a top 100 PG in DJ Stewart. Carter returns. Nick is going to be back 100% and Lamar isn’t set on leaving yet.
Part of my concern has been with howland. I haven’t seen any in game adjustments in his years here. And it just blows me away that he won’t try a zone at any point in a game. I guess I got spoiled when I was there in the early 2000’s and we had team chemistry instead of a lot of “me” players.
Zags is pretty dialed in nationally but our new AD has been a total pro so far and has kept everything super quiet. I would be surprised if that is anything more than a guess based on their common ties to USA Basketball and the fact he has coached at elite academic schools in the past if it turns out to be true, the more I think about it, the less horrible I think it could be
- a healthy Matta but that doesn't seem likely - John Becker at Vermont there aren't a whole lot of names out there that seem like they would be good fits or that would have interest in the job so maybe getting a guy like JT3 (9 years out of 11 ranking near the top 30 in the KenPom rankings while coaching at an elite academic school) is about as good as we can do I would really hate to be an AD
