We don't really cheat as much as we had a selfish coach who gave money to players already on our roster in order to enrich himself.
Yeah, he's a better writer than Wolken or Dodd (who I'm really convinced does hate college sports). He's just super smug and weirdly aggressive at certain points.
Issues stemming from the FBI investigation. We don’t really know the full details because Auburn and their admin have ignored all FOIA requests that would detail the NOA they received and have continued to cheat their asses off in the face of major violations. Pretty good stuff that surely won’t blow up in their faces
We were supposed to play Northwestern Saturday at a tournament but they opted out and now we have Liberty
Also Auburn 5* guard Sharife Cooper has apparently left the team? Seems they dropped the bag on him as well. Big of Bruce to forego the CBI this season. I want to believe that something will actually happen to auburn, but it never does. If it actually does happen, I hope they sell tickets for when that final four banner comes down
lol if you think that any successful college basketball or football program doesn’t cheat at this point
Nah, still attending practices and waiting on the NCAA to clear him. His parents have apparently hired attorneys because the NCAA is asking for information they don't feel is necessary or pertinent to Sharife's eligibility.
Like banks accounts showing mysterious $100K deposits from a Druce Earl at the University of Aubren? boom got em
More like if he got an advance from Young Money APAA before he became an agent would be my guess. Omar didn't become an agent overnight, and his partnership with Lil Wayne's agency probably started well before April of this year. Supposedly, all of this revolves around him becoming an agent and his ties to his AAU program and possible things that have happened to jeopardize Sharife's eligibility.
Auburn’s persecution complex is so weird. They got a national title in football and a final four in basketball from blatantly dropping bags and they act like they’re some kind of target... Shit I’d think they would beat their chest and be smug about that rather than acting like they’re constantly picked on
Yeah everyone in the world knew pearl was going to get them in trouble and they needed to just enjoy the ride before it happened
Watching them waffle between “we did nothing wrong” and “everyone is just out to get us” to “well everyone cheats” is pretty entertaining though
That makes no sense. Our bag/recruiting game didn't take off for either program until after the championship/final 4 run. Both rosters were mostly made up of 3* caliber recruits, Tuberville recruits, etc.
“Our bag game didn’t take off until after we dropped a $200k bag off to land Cam Newton to win our national championship” -SimpleCam
“Our assistant coach was arrested by the FBI for dropping bags in Sept 2017 and we made the final four in 2019 but our bag game didn’t take off until after our final four run” -SimpleCam
Recruiting class pre final 4: 22nd Post final four: 9th including highest ranked recruit in school history, and then Jabari Smith in the 2022 class But yeah, two depth players got paid after they were on campus clearly proves that Final Four roster was built dropping bags, even though most of the guys lacked offers. Simplebert
only because of numbers you took were smaller than most schools which affects the ranking. Pretty obvious the Heron, Wiley, Harper class were purchased. Then Okeke the following year, then couldn’t take any commits because you had to shut recruiting down in 2018 to self impose penalties for getting caught doing dirty shit. God you’re a fucking moron
im not debating tin foil theories with you "Yeah, your recruiting significantly got better, actually the best in school history, post Final four, but the real bag dropping took place when you signed that 5'9 PG over the college of Charleston and that instate super legacy." -Simplebert We signed our starting point guard last year in 2018 btw
https://www.si.com/college/2019/08/07/auburn-self-imposed-sanctions-fbi-ncaa-scandal Again, dumbass. Your recruiting did not get better after dropping bags. Your classes just got larger which improved your ranking. The 2016 class had the #22, #35, #90, and #206 recruits in the country your 2020 class had #24, #51, #140, #162, and #175 recruits in the country. Because you have more recruits in the 2020 class, it was ranked higher. The rankings take the top 5 recruits in your class, just like they take in the top 20 football recruits to go toward the rankings. You stupid cunt
95.00 avg in 2016 and 64.72 points with 4 recruits 94.66 avg in 2020 and 64.71 points with 5 recruits oUr ReCrUiTiNg GoT bEtTeR
We signed the two highest ranked recruits in school history, and the #5 pick in the NBA draft post Final 4. You're in two separate threads now on this board debating your conspiracy theories on Auburn recruiting. That's sad
What conspiracy theories am I posting about? The fact that you guys literally got caught cheating and your classes were rated higher pre-cheating and me having to explain the rankings to you like you’re 5 years old? If so then I guess I agree
Want to edit that post a few more times? If you REALLY want to believe that the West Memphis kids in that cycle weren’t being facilitated by a handler that caused them to transfer schools and have their services shopped around, then be my guest. You just stay in your little oblivious bubble that Auburn is clean and doing things the right way.
Just so we are clear, you are referring to the conclusion that Auburns recruiting success was aided by payments to players as a “conspiracy theory”, despite FBI evidence, an self imposed postseason ban, and an unreleased NOA that suggest otherwise. Meanwhile, you expect us all to believe that the overnight recruiting success of a historically awful basketball program who had recently hired a coach with a history of NCAA infractions related to recruiting was simply organic
No, I trust your unverified sources Bert. "They paid that guy's handler, I know so, they had to" is 2008 bunker/Jeffrey Lee tin foil tier logic
Person got busted for trying to link current players to agents. I didn't read the entire reports, as I'm sure you did, but I don't even know what that has to do with buying recruits unless payments were confirmed dating back to 2015 and 2016. Nice deflection though. What about the Chris Moore proof? Guess we will just have to take your conspiracy huh? You know for certain we paid for everyone on our final 4 run yet we get nothing.
