Derby is fucked they owe £25m in unpaid taxes, £6m in unpaid transfer fees and £5m to former manager and staff
has he really? good for him. i really don't know how they come out of this. even if the club is given away it's going to cost 40m lbs and apparently their current owner was putting in between 1.5-2m lbs a month before he had enough. so all in it's going to cost something like 60m over the next two seasons. and derby don't really have any assets worth anything villa was in a similar situation a couple of years ago when they had to mortgage the parking lot at villa park to pay a 4m tax payment. the club was bought for like 60m--but villa had over 60m worth of players so it wasn't as expensive as it seemed there are probably something like half of the clubs that are for sale in the efl if someone makes an offer. derby without the debt would probably be top 10. with the debt they have, they might legit be the least attractive club to buy rn. i think they're going to go the way of bury it's really sad.
sounds like there are 2m in potential add-ons it might benefit both parties for liverpool to buy that out for 1m and send it to derby now
if i win the lottery tonight and buy the club that would actually be one of my first calls to try to buy that out for half. it sounds like they also owe something like 11m in unpaid transfer fees+coaches salaries. go get a loan for 11m and pay that off over 5-7 years. would have to use the stadium or something to guarantee it sell every senior player over 23 that has any value in january play the kids second half of the champ season while preparing for league one even then they're probably fucked.
Peterboroughs #9 just got suspended for four matches for tweets he sent 9 years ago when he was 17-18 he is their only fit striker ffs
Wasn’t a lot of interest in him after last season in which he was a casualty of Parker’s system which didn’t fit him in the PL at all. Either we or he turned down a low offer from Lokomotiv but that was it as far as anyone knows. Silva has built his offense around him which shows.
If anyone bet on Blackburn +6.5 sorry for the bad beat Our five matches since the international break: Win 4-1 Win 2-0 Win 4-0 Win 3-0 Win 7-0
Is this the EFL Thread?I guess Wayne's direct deposits are still going into his account, or maybe it's such a nominal figure that he doesn't notice either way.
I thought it would be been more I’m not sure I see anyone buying them. Like 30m lbs owed in taxes and 15m in transfer fees are owed before you even take into account any of the other debts/expenses. Hull just sold for ~40m lbs and they’re basically debt free. The dude who owns the majority of Charlton paid under 20. You can get a league two team for free basically. it is really amazing how poorly like 90%+ of football teams are run.
Top of the table for Scotty Parker I see. Up and coming manager and exceedingly handsome as well. Fulham played pretty well in the prem last year under him. Their finishing was just shocking. The way they built that team with all those loans was also odd.
A buddy of mine is a lifelong Wigan fan. He visited a few weeks back and made the website: https://wiganathletic.com/news/2021/october/Jeff-s-Journey-From-Idaho-to-Wigan/
to provide some rivalry, I’ve started following Ipswich, which is where my paternal people left from when they came to the US. L1 is fascinatingly nano-scaled.
is plymouth doing this with smoke and mirrors or do they legitimately have a good side? their manager is on football daily some thursdays when they do 72+ about the EFL and he seems like he is pretty sharp for a young manager. i think he said his chairmans goal for this season was a top half finish
Oh for sure. I feel sorry for the fans, but at same time, if he’s their only option, he will get the ship righted.
I mean derby county is about as fucked as you can possibly imagine they just need someone to sort out their books and keep them in the championship
Well I’m not sure that they will be able to survive this year. So it’ll be interesting to see what happens if the takeover is successful.
