I’m shocked they didn’t disallow Udinese’s equalizer late in the game. Not because it should have been, but because Juve. The broadcasting team blamed Juve’s GK, but the Udinese forwards were already closing on him when the left back passed it to him.
If you get a yellow celebrating a goal that then gets called back, should the yellow also get called back?
Cripes, my Gondoliers keep trying to play out of the back and the goalie had served it on a platter and Napoli’s scuffed it 3 times already. Not a great start.
Insigne skies a PK!!! In a gross piece of news, before the PK the Napoli players were getting a drink and the ref runs over to their huddle, grabs a water bottle from one of them, wraps his lips around it and guzzles, then hands it back to the player who proceeds to drink out of it. Maybe Covid doesn’t exist in Italy.
Anddd Venezia commits a second handball in as many minutes and Insigne just goes down the middle. Napoli is going to get 3 points after being down a man for 80 minutes
This will be the first time he’s truly settled as a player to be relied on for longer than a season on loan. 2 assists, hit the crossbar and got the opposing keeper sent off. Not a bad start.
He clearly looks perfect for Serie A and nice to watch Roma have 2 strikers that can do more than just stand around and slow everything up. Need to see a top 3 of Eldor, Tammy, and Zainolo. Those 3 would be lethal together.
I find this impossible to believe. Over the past few years I’ve watched a lot of soccer from many places: Fox, ESPN+, NBC/Peacock, Paramount+/CBSSports, Bleacher Report/Turner, beIN, TUDN off the top of my head. Paramount/CBS and BR/Turner easily have to be tied for the worst. It isn’t even close If the move was the opposite you’d say how much better ESPN+ was
If you spent any time watching games outside of the 2 highlighted weekly matchups you’d understand why ESPN was utter shit. Loss of video and/or audio feed and stuttering/laggy video quality happened way too often. At times even with the top weekly matchups. Does ESPN employ you? Or are you the doof behind the broadcasting failures?
I’m guessing both are just taking the international broadcast and airing that and not adding much to it
No I don’t work for ESPN and I don’t understand the 2nd question. I have just found ESPN+ to be the best of the bunch and Paramount to be the worst so it was very confusing. I did watch beyond just whatever was the top match but did watch more of those due to them being the top and due to Wes being at Juve. I also watched tons of Bundesliga and I can assure you Werder Bremen were never top billing. I would sometimes use the Xbox app and watch up top 4 matches at a time with no issues
Paramount is producing a studio show every match day, which I don't think ESPN ever did specifically for Serie A
The ESPN coverage was a company who had no intention of doing the bare minimum. They had no pre-show, sometimes you only got a single announcer, the feed quality was poor at times. I don't believe the started running ESPN FC post game shows till after the winter break. Paramount + in comparison looks like NBC's coverage of EPL. They care... a little. I'm glad to see a pre-show and post show and two announcers. I'll take it for now.
Samp has some scoring threats up front. They were solid today and dangerous at times. Mike was fantastic. He's going to be just fine in replacing Gigi. I was surprised to see Diaz look so good and he pushed the pace, something Hakan stopped doing at season end. I still think a #10 and RW are desperately needed. Liked what I saw out of Milan. The battle for the top 4 should be great.
Ahh. I skip 90% of pre/post match/game stuff and halftime stuff for all sports. Just hate it, so not something I would notice but can understand the complaint. Makes sense why that might make you like it more
I don’t even care about the non game stuff tbh just give me a consistent feed with announcers who aren’t made to read bed time stories and I’ll be happy. ESPN having games 20 min into the match before the feed worked was laughably bad
I'm sure Juve got it's money worth out of CR7. But the league shit the bed so badly on him being part Serie A. The leaders of this league should all be fired and replaced. From awful messaging, allowing racist to run wild in the stands, not supporting talent, awful american social media and I was listening to some pods and a large amount of TV deals aren't completed yet around the world meaning you can't watch Serie A unless you pirate it. In Canada apparently 1/3 of the games weren't broadcast including the Napoli game.
Before the red card they were up 3-1. The bench is more talented than they’ve been the last couple years but very young. The main issue has been losing to teams they shouldn’t have and they’ve handled these first 2 opponents so it’s promising.
Juve should have gotten a penalty that wasn’t called but still no excuse to lose to Empoli. Kean will make the attack better but there’s a lot of dead weight in the starting lineup that needs to be shaken up.
Juventus is still plenty talented to win the league. Just having some fun early. The top 6 clubs in Italy are going to have a blood bath for that top 4 slot
I was just thinking how he hasn’t developed to the extent I was hoping but with FKs like that it’ll continue to earn a starting spot
He wasn’t very good last year. I was expecting a Barella type player. But he’s off to a decent start this year. That goal should help his confidence. I have no idea how Maldini is going into this season with Salamakers at RW. I’m amazing we are still missing a CAM and RW this market
