We Cover Spreads Preseason Game of Year 3* Giants-1.5 First Half 3* play in regular season is just a normal play but in preseason we release all plays as 1*, so this fits the bill as our top play in preseason. The Giants are coming off of a horrible performance against the Bears last week. Not to make excuses but that was off of just 5 days rest after playing Carolina on Monday Night. Both teams starters are expected to play the whole first half. The Giants caught their performance in their ear big time after a horrible showing in Chicago from Coach Coughlin. The players all seem to be responding to their coach and his criticism this week very well. Eli Manning said that this being the final week the starters will get to play extended time they are focused to come out to play their best. He even said the offense is doing a little game planning, watching film on the Jets preseason games and preparing for their schemes. Even center Shaun O'hara said "I know we'll be ready for this game." The Giants plan is to air it out, depending on the weather. Their will be a chance of showers tonight but it's not supposed to be as bad as earlier expected with rain ealier in the day and may not rain at all by kickoff. The Giants plan on gauging their Wide Receivers; letting rookies Ramses Barden and Hakeem Nicks work with Manning and the first team along with Steve Smith, Domenick Hixon, Mario Manningham, and Sinorice Moss. Barden a 6 foot 6 rookie from Cal-Poly and first round pick UNC grad Hakeem Nicks have practiced with Eli and the first team all week and Coach Coughlin felt the progress was positive and the chemistry looked good between the three.Former Giants QB Phil Simms who spoke with several Giants players and coaches this week said to New York reporters "The Giants are going to be ready to run through a wall on Saturday night." Rex Ryan and the Jets are coming off of a short week of preparation after a Monday Night game in Baltimore. Ryan has had a laid back approach to this game and admitted last week was a big game for him but said their hasn't been much chatter about this game with Giants in locker room he said. Rookie Mark Sanchez will be in the spotlight against a Giants defense who looks like they will get starting Corner Back Corey Webster back but still will be without leader Antonio Pierce. Sanchez looked shaky in his first start where he went 3-for-8 for 43 yards with an interception that was returned for a touchdown. There were also two delay-of-game penalties, a missed communication issue with Jerricho Cotchery and a dropped interception by Ray Lewis which would've been returned for a TD. The Jets first team was trailing 21-7 to Baltimore at half time last week and were leading 10-9 vs. a not so talented Rams team which played pretty vanilla on both sides of the ball in their first week. We are playing this as a first half play only because the Giants reserves have looked questionable all preseason and we don't trust them throughout the final stretch of the game and the Jets pulling off a backdoor cover like last week isn't far-fetched. We expect a motivated Giants first team to come out and handle business in the first half of this game against a Jets team who is coming off of a short week and didn't prep for this game. *Note*: We have seen this line mostly at -1.5 and -2.5 at most books, there were only a couple of -3 out there so we advise you to shop for the best price you can find under -3.
MR EAST Tennessee Titans @ Tennesse Titans 3 units Tennessee Titans +2.5 The Tennessee Titans have 2 solid QB's that should get most of the minutes in this one, as well as a top rated defense that will get a lot of time on the field here as well. The Cleveland Browns face a lot of negative preseason indicators for this game, as Tennessee is coming in here with 3 of my top rated ATS systems pointing to them, with each shoing a better than 60% chance that Tennessee covers this game. Jeff Fisher, unlike many coaches, has shown a propensity to not only play these games, but to win them, and I'm going with Tennessee in this one. San Francisco 49ers @ Dallas Cowboys 5 units San Francisco 49ers +7 The Dallas Cowboys will host the San Francisco 49ers in week 3 of the preseason. There is one thing clear about the 49ers under coach Mike Singletary, they play hard, regardless of the game situation. He is very intense, and even in the preseason he takes on a winning attitude. That becomes a dangerous situation for teams laying a TD in an exhibition game, and history shows, when teams come into a game 2-0 as a big dog they very often deliver the cash. teams that have won 2 consecutive games entering here as a dog of 3.5-10 have gone 23-4 ATS since 1993, and have played their opponents basically even, being outscored by just a half-point a game in the 27 games. Teams getting 6 or more points in the NFLX are covring over 60% of the time since 1996. teams that have 2 or more wins in the NFLX, vs teams with exactly 1 win have covered the spread 70% of the time the last 12 years as well. Away dogs have covered 65% of over 115 games coming into the game with 2 wins. I like San Francisco in this one, and it is my NFLX GAME OF THE YEAR

BOB BALFE Browns -2 over Titans The Titans play five preseason games this year and might be toning down their play with the starters to avoid injury. The Browns have a lot to work on and at home will want to play well. This will be the game that determines if Derrick Anderson or Brady Quinn gets the starting role at quarterback. Both of them should get good time with the starting offense keeping Cleveland's starters on the field a little longer tonight. Take the Browns. Giants -105 over Rockies Zito/Marquis

Wunderdog Cleveland Indians vs. Baltimore Orioles Play: Cleveland Indians Jeremy Sowers has pitched much better for the Indians of late. Despite a poor performance in his last outing, his previous five outings showed an impressive 3.09 ERA. The Orioles counter with rookie Chris Tillman, who really has struggled keeping the ball in the park. Tillman has allowed nine HRs in just 35 big league innings, and the Indians are a team that can score and take average pitching deep, as they have been 15-6 in their last 21 against a pitcher with a WHIP over 1.30. The O's inconsistent offense has led them to a 22-48 record after scoring 5+ in their previous game. The Orioles offense takes a sharp negative turn against left-hand pitching as well, as they average 5.1 runs a game vs. right-handers, but just four per game against southpaws. The Indians meanwhile, are plating 5.6 runs a game on the road, so I will go with them in this one.

ATS Consultants FREE PLAYS Indianapolis Colts vs. Detroit Lions OVER 39.5 It’s dress rehersal day for both of these teams as the season approaches in a few weeks. The Colts will have Peyton Manning playing the most he’s played all pre season, and the #1 offense in the league will gunning to make some plays against the woeful Lions defense. Daunte Culpepper will make the start for Detroit, with Matthew Stafford getting the bulk of the second half action. They’ll certainly be able to put up some points today, but the question is will they be able to stop anyone. I say no, so expect a high scoring game. Atlanta Braves/Philadelphia Phillies UNDER 8 Good pitchiing matchup tonight in Philly, weather permitting. Derek Lowe goes for the Braves while Cliff Lee, who has been AMAZING thus far for the Phillies takes the hill. Lowe (12-8, 4.48) hasn’t been his usual self this year, struggling at times while trying to find consistency. He has however, been great against the Phillies in 2009. He’s 1-0 with a 1.29 ERA in 14 innings pitched. He’ll pitch well today, but will it be well enough against Lee. Lee (5-0, 0.68) has literally been unhittable since coming over from Cleveland. Philadelphia is going to be very tough to beat if Lee keeps going like this. He’s allowed just 24 hits and 3 runs in 40 innings pitched. He’s been unreal, and that is unlikely to change as September approaches.
Unlocked Sports Texas Rangers vs Minnesota Twins Picks: Texas ML (3 units) & Texas -1.5 (2 units) This is a great price to play Texas both moneyline and runline. Scott Feldman (13-4, 3.87) will face Carl Pavano (11-9, 5.20). Feldman has a very impressive road record of 9-1 this season. The Rangers are 2.5 games behind Boston in the Wildcard standings and absolutely cannot afford to lose this one. Lay 3 units moneyline and 2 units runline on Texas.

The animal Free play Pick title: 2* San Francisco +7 Pick Date: 08/29/2009 Pick description: Two figures jump off the page when examining the Dallas Cowboys. Last weekend Dallas threw 42 times for 355 passing yards in the 30-10 win over Tennessee. Last time I checked the Titans defense was very good. The week before Oakland threw for 280 passing yards against Dallas and accumulated 456 total yards. The Raiders had 176 rushing yards on just 26 carries averaging 6.8 a carry. Last time I checked the Raiders are widely considered horrible offensively. Dallas has one QB sack in two games. Let's not forget Dallas only led Tennessee 14-10 in the 4th quarter before the Titans started committing turnovers leading to 16 4th quarter points for the Cowboys. Dallas is banged up at the receiver position. Roy Williams is out with an injured shoulder and Sam Hurd, who led the team with 79 receiving yards two weeks ago at Dallas, has missed three days of practice this week with a quadricepts injury. The 49ers are 2-0 SU this preseason winning each game by a single point at home. Catch this system: NFL preseason road underdogs coming off two SU wins and catching 3 1/2 to 10 points are 40-14 ATS since 1993. Last week there was a circus-like atmosphere for the opening of the new Cowboy Stadium. But things have settled down. We all know how dangerous it is taking big favorites in the NFL when coming off a lopsided win. They rarely get the job done. Still a competition at the QB spot for San Francisco. I'll take the point tonight as Saturday's 2* free pick.
