For a multitude of reasons I usually don't enter and or post in tv show threads. The constant bitching is the main one. But anyway here are my thoughts and bitching. I don't think I have ever hated an individual more than I hate Frank. He is a completely worthless POS. Unfortunately the show wouldn't be as good without him. I'd love for him to die in that river but I know the show would suffer. I want a season were Fiona happiness isn't tied to a dude. Jesus let her character grow without needing to open her legs. I do enjoy seeing her naked so more shower scenes would take care of that. I hope Lip goes in and Ian keeps doing well. Lip reminds me of me when I was younger. Not the drinking problem but that can't get out of his own way stuff. Karl is the best followed by Kev. I don't get the Debbie hate. She is a dumbass 15 year old. The actress plays that well.
I get the wish to have Fiona not chase men all the time and i was thinking the same thing. on the other hand thats who she is, im sure we all know the girls who go from relationship to relationship because they cant be alone. Maybe this was a wake up call but if not then i'm fine with that because its a pretty real thing.
To echo how well Kev has developed as a character throughout the seasons not only is he hilarious with his lines and delivery but the line to Lip about that barstool being his fathers seat was absolute murder.
so i haven't watched since probably ep 2 or 3. was away for a while, then just didn't have a chance to catch up yet. worth watching this season?

Just binged seasons 1-4 the past couple weeks. I have no idea how I missed this show. Loved the show But there was a definite drop off between season 3 and 4. Does it pick back up again?
Fuck Fiona and her comment to Lip calling him arrogant. She's the ultimate fuck up. Don't act all tough because you read some article.
Exactly what I thought. She's constantly choosing awful people and completely screwing everything in her life up. She likes to blame everyone else for her bad decisions, though, so it's no surprise that she's jumping on Lip. Lip didn't say anything wrong when he said his internship was the only thing that could actually lead to something. Her job at the failing diner will almost certainly not help her succeed in life, no matter if the owner of said dump made something of herself without a diploma.
I'm only on season 3 so this blew my mind. But there is just an element of a high school sitcom with her so I think that's the turn off.
Or how about when Carl, who i thought was in like 6th grade had his gf going to frat parties and getting STDs. Definitely felt a little creepy when she was talking about giving him a BJ
I'm having a hard time getting into this season. The dialogue seems worse than in previous years and none of the story lines are even remotely interesting.
I'm still entertained, but for me Lip is the most fascinating character and just having him be a cook for 5 mins an ep is bad planning. Kill off Deb, kill of Ian, send more time on Carl, Lip, and Kevin.
I 100% agree with this and am getting tired of Lip's character stuck in a development loop. He tries hard, something goes wrong, he fucks everything up. For like the last 3 seasons, at some point someone as street smart and intelligent would learn from previous mistakes. But having him actually "make it" would be the end of his character arc, so they have to keep inventing ridiculous ways for him to be brought back down. The show is so far out of ideas for each character that the story lines are way past the normal Shameless random hilarity that used to be great and are now just groan inducing.

Seriously. We should get like a montage of her Tinder escapades at some point. This is kinda how it is for all of them though yeah? It's the Gallagher DNA. Lip seems to have almost a mental block as far as actually succeeding is concerned. Fiona fucked her life up as well when she fucked the druggie brother of her boss/boyfriend at the cups place and the druggie brother gave her some coke as a present which Liam got into and landed Fiona in jail and eventually at the diner. At some point Lip or Fiona probably will break the cycle and that will be the end of the show but it's kinda been this way from the start.
Exactly and it was fine for like 5-6 seasons. But it's getting tiresome and the reasons have become increasingly ridiculous. They have run out of material and it shows. Also the dialogue this season has been much worse than in previous seasons.
Agreed the show needs more Lip. I still like Kevin, Carl, and Frank but everyone but Fiona/Lip's story has run its course.
I use it as a palate cleanser after The Walking Dead. I could probably watch videos of animals eating other animals' feces and still accomplish that because of how bad TWD is but I go with Shameless.
