I have a couple girls I went to college with that became e-personalities/fashion bloggers, which is essentially the more affluent white-girl version of being an instagram model. Blows my mind that people can hold these jobless, lazy ass women who spend all day impersonating Kim K on such a pedestal.

Maybe I'm forgetting, but how did the story not get blown up the second the picture of his 'gf' started being shown by espn/everyone? It was a real girl... hard to imagine nobody that knew her saw the picture.
Looks interesting but can’t help but think whoever’s idea this was doesn’t give any fucks about Te’o’s mental health.
I always wondered if it was a cover for him possibly being gay, especially after the stuff about the guy that did it popped up. Just a really weird deal.
If it happened today, the people who started out being Team Te’o Made the Whole Thing Up might not have the emotional skillset to understand that he was the victim. Just more fake news hoaxing.

I think that was everyone’s thought at first, at least locally. That theory kind of fell apart though, I honestly think the dude was a super sheltered Mormon who got in too deep and by the time he found out it was to late to run it back so he just rolled with it as long as he could.
No clue. But if I were asked what is the most embarrassing ordeal any person has had to endure in the era I lived in, this story would definitely be amongst the favorites.
Having seen “Next Goal Wins” since this story happened I wonder if Manti’s terrible cousin was a Faʻafafine (a sort of third gender that became commonplace in Pacific Islander cultures) I’m probably doing a Dan Brown level square peg into a round hole puzzle piecing here but it would be intriguing.
