Love the news that we’re considering sending Baldwin down to AAA after last night. This organization is very serious about winning.
This is only ok if your trying to figure out a way for him play everyday and experimenting with that.
Well that’s most certainly not what they’re doing. With our trash outfield crew there’s really zero reason he cannot catch twice per week and pinch hit every single game for those bums.
Glad Murph is bouncing back and Drake has shown he belongs, but it's less a "good problem to have" than a frustrating one for me. There's no way to rectify it other than teaching Drake to play LF on the fly, and his defense will probably end up cancelling out the added offense. We're going to keep making sure last year was a fluke for Murph and that he's all the way back, and then we're going to trade Drake. Just have to make sure we don't miss on the return.
Because whatever is happening at this very moment will continue to happen exactly this way in the future and that’s without exception, Lou
I would like to think the Braves wouldn’t have extended Murphy like they did if they had concerns about him maintaining production in his early 30s. So that seems more likely to me - especially with Murph being a proven great catcher whereas Drake has the potential to be great. If we think Murph’s 2024 is a sign of things to come rather than an aberration, and we want to deal him once he recoups value, I’m not necessarily opposed.
I’d personally rather wait and then hopefully make the decision next offseason. Drake’s bat has considerable upside compared to Murph’s. Murph had a really hot start to his career in Atlanta, but he’s still a career .230 hitter, which has value with the amount of walks and pop at that position for sure.
It’s not really boned when your five hole hitter cannot put a ball in the air or up the middle to get a free run
Can’t tell for sure from my pov, but buxton smoked that one off the bat and it looked like it had a tail?
Im loling at the beautiful juxtaposition of a game tying HR from Correa with our loser broadcast trying to convince us that a 1 run inning, that left the bases loaded stranded, was a win
Idk if I’d read into that too much. He lost the zone and may have been focusing on not over throwing the fb
