These right here, apparently you decided to get 2 explosion devices. Smart. They give you the violent bubbles in the spa. Some people like them, I dislike them. And that was before today.
Some days yes, some days no. They don't have the chemicals right yet, they haven't "salted" the pool yet and aren't putting a lot of chlorine in it so it gets a tint of green to it after 4-5 days. They still don't have the magic bowls in and the needle on the deck jets isn't lined up right so none of the toys are working right. At least we can swim and enjoy it so I'm pretty patient on the other stuff. I want to get it done so I can have a party with 25 five year olds though.
Ahhhh got it. We have jets in the hot tub and then jets on the ledge on the deep end so maybe that's why we have two idk. We can't use any of them bc they don't have nozzles yet so they just shoot water up into the air and onto the deck. Lovely!
no, these give big air bubbles to the spa. Your spa will literally look like it is boiling over when activated. Good chance they have not been enabled yet if your pool is still in start up, which it appears it is.
Weird, no idea why we have two then. We have two small bubblers that have lights on them, one in the sun deck and one in the little seating cutout for the kid. Maybe it's those, idk.
And yea still in startup. They said it'd be 30 days before it's all up and running so we have like 2 weeks left.
I just told you what they are for, they are for your spa. I have taken the liberty of marking up another of your pictures to help you locate the spa.
Either you have a shitload of jets in the spa or they saw you as an easy mark. Or other option is if you have one of them tied into jets in your cold plunge sitting area. Edit: I am on pools all the time that have 2 so I do not see it as odd.
sounds extremely typical are they brushing every day? not sure if you need to do that with these pebble type installs
Got it. They are supposed to walk me through it all at the end so we'll see. I honestly don't know how many jets we have. I think it's 10, 3 on each side and 4 on the back, but I could be way wrong.
The original layout of our house was to have that room you see on the right disconnected from the house as a pool cabana. I didn't like that so we added a hallway and a closet and made it my shoe room and my bathroom. Now that we have a pool we're quickly realizing the pool cabana would be a great feature bc having wet people go inside for the bathroom all the time sucks. So now we're thinking about removing the bay window on the back of that room and making it into French doors. But that's my room and idk how I feel about wet people going in and out of there all the time. I'll end up with a murder charger if a person with wet hands grabs the wrong shoe.
There seems to be some disconnect between the builder and the plaster company. Builder said to brush daily, plaster company laughed and said there's no reason to do that so we haven't been.
that's why i asked. i think it really depends on your surface. This may be helpful to you but it just says plaster. it may entirely depend on the product that was used: https://www.troublefreepool.com/blog/2019/01/18/start-up-new-plaster/
Serious my favorite part of the whole pool building is how the builder almost never does the start-up. That way if anything goes wrong with the plaster curing process the finger pointing and blame game can commence.
3rd theory has popped up. System has dual salt cells plumbed inline and due to configuration those salt cells are always outputting to spa returns, even when not in spa mode. Salt cells output hypochlorous acid along with sodium hypochlorite. Oh, and also hydrogen. Possible that those gas(es) made their way into the portion of the spa return plumbing utilized by the air blower (this portion of the underground plumbing is only used when air blower is on) and either mixed with something else or were present in enough quantity that they only needed an ignition source, which the blower motor and/or increased pressure provide. Zack Zedalis provided me with a dude with an IG account of a pool guy that has a podcast and has seen or heard of almost everything. So I messaged him the scenario and my 3 working theories and am waiting for him to reply.
Goddamn "Hindenblower" bout got our boy. Glad you're okay. Hydrogen makes a lot more sense. Is there a way to evacuate that line besides turning the blower on? I smell a code change. Maybe they'll put your name on it.
It is wild, the more people I talk to the more freakish this is. I have talked to enough people that about 400 years of combined experience has been covered and no on has seen or even heard of this. It is hard to tell the customer how to move forward until some sort of more solid explanation is found. If nothing more is discovered, may just tell them to not make any plans to ever get the air blower feature working again.
First holiday weekend with the pool. Still a little work to finish up bar and landscaping but 90% there and totally worth it.
Is all concrete slab. Was a third of cost of stone and I love the way it came out. Pool contractors fuck us so bad in California so price became a large consideration. I won’t be posting equipment pictures because atramp will light me up for not having pentair equipment.
That's the light grey color we were going with. We almost went with a sandblasted marble tile but there was concern about it as some recent installs in this area have gone poorly bc of the soil or some shit, it wad causing the tile to get like a rust effect on the edges. But anyways yea that light grey looks great. Big fan.
Had the kids in the pool for the first time with the temp hovering around 84 degrees. One hated the cold and wouldn’t get in. The other we couldn’t get out. I finally had to say it’s time to go as his teeth started chattering. He can’t wait to get back in today.
I was just told I am plumbing in a ll the equipment for a 68k gallon koi pond. If you know anything about koi ponds, that is a serious amount of equipment. My word, I am going to have a busy week coming up soon.
The amount of equipment to keep a koi pond that size running is comical. If you just upgraded your filters only from what you have you could keep a 100k gallon pool operational. For a koi pond? Well, here you go.
Me too man. I am still laughing about this. A 10k gallon Koi pond is considered huge by industry standards. 3300k gallons is about normal sized. The ultimate in fuck you money.
Had to have a pool guy come do some minor things today. He commended how clean of an equipment installation I had 2 or 3 times and also praised all the equipment choices.
Thank god you were intelligent and capable enough to do all of that yourself without having to resort to the use of "internet experts."
