Equally heroic Joel Osteen is converting some of his money counting machines into thermometers so the homeless can see just how cold they are.
Honest question bc I haven’t noticed but is the metroplex supposed to get ice as well? I heard mostly snow starting tomorrow. We have been lucky to avoid any ice to this point over here. I was thinking of using the jeep only if it’s snow. If it’s ice.... f that. That’s only IF I have to get out. Hoping there is no need.
There has been ice on my car the past couple of mornings. Luckily the roads I have taken have not been too bad.
might be a little chilly for the next few days, so naturally HEB in Austin this morning looked like a hurricane and/or pandemic was coming
this makes you sound like a huge asshole there's dangerous weather out and you want poorly paid people to drive your food to you? and if they don't, you don't think you should pay?
Why blame this on Hoss. You should probably blame HEB for creating this “dangerous” environment. If there’s a market, you will have participants.
Very little salt or chemicals? Use sand and gravel like normal DOTs, you 100% have that. Like are they incapable of googling how to make roads less slick?
Currently drinking coffee by the fire in a quiet house. SIL decided to stay the night which means she’ll be here until Friday. Dump shes single if you want to be my BIL
Once again, it is a logistics & need issue. North Texas does not have a fleet of sand & gravel trucks large enough to combat events such as this. Why? Because events like this are rare here. There is no other answer than that. Dallas averages 1.2” of snowfall a year. How much is that? Well, that is enough to not even stick upon hitting the ground most years due to it most commonly falling when the temps were above freezing directly before & after the event. It is a quite simple concept.
2 weeks since ordering and no cookies, and no email notifications other than they took my money. Thanks for scamming me pal!
I would have paid for them to be delivered but HEB has amazing customer service. That’s twice now that they have done this. The first time it was because it took so long at pick up. It’s why we always shop there other than the fact it’s the best grocery store ever.
To go further, TexDot has less plows or sand trucks than Minnesota. Even though it has 3x the area to cover as well as 3x the amount of paved surfaces. Most of the resources are used to keep highways and bridges clear. Then and only then, do residential streets get attention. And they start with the larger streets.
I am trying to find somehow to make this make sense. This is the best I got. Texas/DFW investing a shitload in plows and trucks and the ongoing maintenance associated with makes as much sense as KSU men’s basketball building a $500,000,000 facility just to showcase its national championship trophies and scorecards of wins against KU. And keeping it open and staffed round the clock. Pretty pointless if you are following along now.
Oh I know it doesn't make sense. I just like making fun of Texas when I can. We are on day 6 of what looks like 20 straight days of single digits here in KS and it's snowing atm, feeling snarky
Yeah, I could tell you were messing. I still used it as an opportunity to illustrate as there does appear to be some northerners that can’t grasp why we don’t simply clean up the streets.
20 below out there right now, hasn't been above zero in over a week hope all my tmb brothers down south are ok
