remembered this morning there is a spigot on the outside of the garage that I have never used and it was frozen solid this morning. 10 minutes with a hairdryer later Im back in business. I am practically bob vila
I love snow when I'm trying to ski or something. Snow on like a Tuesday when I have to go to work fucking sucks.
Snow makes cold weather bearable and even enjoyable. Certainly not ideal for people with long commutes by personal vehicle but I love real winter weather
Going on 36 hours without electricity. Trying to get two kids under 3 down to sleep last night with no electricity was not fun.
Yeah we all understand that. I was making fun of TXDOT for not knowing how to make the roads less slick.
its not snowing here yet but any moisture left in the air is turning into snowflakes now before the real precipitation hits. We are in the endgame.
Water main already busted by my house, will need to find another way home as the road is actually buckling. In addition, been on the phone nonstop with peoples pool equipment already freezing up while running.
i drove to get 5 days of food today and as i hit the road i could already tell, i was a few hours too late mfing car was sliding on that tokyo drift shyt
Visibility about 1/4 mile currently and no supposed to get the heavy stuff until this evening. Wait, wut?
Dump’s living will I leave my posts to bertwing so it can mess up his ratio I leave my likes to a.tramp
Sitting on the last American flight out of Austin for the next 3 days it sounds like after talking to gate agents, co-pilot at the gate. Texas about to be shut down to air travel. Hoping we get this off the ground. Had a car rented to drive 18 hours because I can’t afford to be stuck here. Poked my head inside the terminal before heading to rental car and sweet talked the gate agent into a ticket out after my late afternoon flight was cancelled at lunch.
our DCA-DFW flight home tomorrow evening was already cancelled when I woke up this morning. Rebooked on one an hour later that arrives at 8pm but I’m skeptical hippo
I’m working under the assumption that by Monday evening the snow will no longer be falling and 360 and 20 will be sanded. But there’s always the chance I’m an idiot
I’m alive and well after my trek home. Luckily did not see too many idiots. I know many of you are disappointed
I flew home 2-3 days into the last big ice storm in 14 or 15. I busted my ass like a cartoon character about 5 times to my car and then idiotically gave an Uber driver the keys to my life. My advice would be to stay away until Saturday if someone is watching your place already
Yeah, you’re not going to want to drive. That’d be dumb. Ice in general is gnarly, add in a region that’s not used to dealing with it and you’re better off waiting it out and working remotely.
Jealous of yall down there. I love a good snowstorm. Currently where I am in ND we have little to no snow on the ground
Went out to take a walk before the snow hits. After about 10 steps I realized that was a terrible idea. The ground is much slicker today compared to the past two. Just getting the mail was an adventure.
Never trust the government to take care of the roads. That's why I always pay for personal plow and gravel truck escorts.
