Being able to that at 39 (or any age really) is wild. I’m almost his age and I quietly celebrate every morning I’m able to get out of bed without pulling or tweaking something.
also that play just before was off the charts absurd. To be able to settle the ball like over the shoulder on a dead sprint with a single touch is insane
I’m not a Madrid fan, went to a relatively meaningless game against Levante, and Ronaldo got suspended for the match (who was still good then, it was 2017) and still had a blast. Plus even the European superpowers aren’t yet about bending over their supporters for every last dime so the whole thing was very reasonable pricewise.
That’s awesome and absolutely an indictment on North American sports bleeding their fanbases at every opportunity. Were you able to get tickets straight from the box office instead of buying 3rd party?
Yes - bought returned season tickets the week before the match. Guessing that’s less fruitful for a match like Atletico or Barcelona but there was a ton of availability and not paying some huge premium in broker fees was also awesome.
A - That Modric goal was fucking amazing. He’s so damn good. B - A couple chances Vini and KM need to put in the net. C - The Bernabeu has always been incredible. I don’t remember specifics but going when I was 10 years old to see a Clasico made me a fan for life.
yeah that was really nice. Great first touch to play himself into a shooting position and nice finish. And all started by Vini dropping deep and winning a tackle on the edge of his own box.
Absolutely abysmal outside of the first few minutes. Deserved result with zero positive from that game.
yeah that was maddeningly flat and dull. So infuriating to watch them just give away the league like this.
need a huge day from all 3 in the midfield with so many hurt/suspended/playing fucking RB because there’s no other options fuck Simeone and fuck Atletico
frustrating to not get a 3rd at the end there but happy to at least get the result. Next We’d is gonna be tough.
yeah not a great last 55+ minutes but they got the 3 points and gave some guys a little bit of rest ahead of Wednesday
game crying out for Brahim. Need someone who can create without having to beat 4 guys on the dribble.
outside of Courtois I’m struggling to find anyone who hasn’t been disappointing today. Asensio maybe after that opening gaffe? all 4 front players have been so underwhelming
Vazquez has had 2 balls in the box he’s attempted to settle where he should have attempted a volley both times
I was in and out watching this on my phone. Missed long stretches but saw penalties. Wow…after the start today I didn’t see them advancing. Survive and advance…
obviously I’d like to see them lift the trophy again but I’m fine with anyone else (other than Barca) winning now that those assholes are out again
