as always i will continue to report back to the MB my findings on the world game...

Think Ribery is going to stay. Know he doesn't get the international respect, but Mario Gomez is one of the most respected players in Germany and Bayern tied their record 30M euro transfer fee (Ribery) to pull Gomez from Stuttgart, so there is no question in my mind he will be one of the 11 of most expensive transfers this summer, though maybe not one of the best 11 in the eyes of everyone else.

I just hope that Newcastle finds some sort of way to talk Obafemi Martins into staying with the team and helping us get right back up.

Is it really a possibility that Fabregas leaves Arsenal? I know you always hear him mentioned as a possibility to go back to Spain but I didn't think it was realistic at this point for Arsenal to sell him.

he's been rumored to want to go back to barca at some point, but i highly doubt he goes this year, even if they sell adebayor to milan. and barca look like they are going after ibra, plus i don't think cesc would want to sit behind the same two midfielders he he does for the national team.

i also think ribery stays, he would command such a fee from bayern i don't think anyone could afford hiom but city & chelsea, and i don't think he'd want to go to city, and chelsea is too crowded.

I truly believe that as long as Wenger is there that Cesc wont leave, but who knows

Where is Cesc rumored to go?

130+ million pounds on Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaka is a serious investment... I guess they'd get rid of all those mercurial and soft dutch players.

i've heard rumors of drenthe, sneijder, robben, and klaas being shopped around. that's alot of talent to let go for two players, but perez wants big names so he'll get them.

and cesc will go back to barca in the next 2-3 years, just not when wenger is still there, JMO.

Do they make trades in soccer or just buy each others' players? I'm just starting to get interested in it and don't know how all this stuff works right now.

Eastwood they will swap players very rarely. They mostly buy and sell players.

Gotcha. That's kinda cool, but I would think it ends with most of the top players at the richer clubs? Also, do they become like free agents looking around to go to different clubs or do the teams control all of it? Could ManU for instance just go buy Kaka and Messi if they wanted?

Yes a lot of the rich teams will buy the best players. And yes players can become free agents when their contract runs out. When they sign with a new team it is called a free transfer since the new team didn't pay them

    - Buffon wants a UCL title and Juve is rebuilding; I think Man U would go after him if they sell CR7
    - Carvalho is probably going to Inter
    - a couple of Barca forums keep mentioning the possibility of Vidic to Nou Camp but no idea where it all started; Pique - Vidic wouldn't be all that bad, but doubt that's even a possibility
    - Fabregas - don't think he wants to back up Xavi and Iniesta for the next 2 or 3 years
    - Ribery - Bayern keeps saying there's no chance

Looks like Arsenal is closing in on Ajax defender Thomas Vermaelen, havent seen him play but Arsenal needs someone to come in and play CB, we will see if it actually goes through though

I don't know much, but I heard that Michael Owen has been mentioned of playing for the Toffees. He would definitely give Everton a world class, when healthy, striker.
