That $200 may be wasted but of gambles I think sapphire isn't an awful one. Think last years sapphire made more money than any box I opened though (although it had guaranteed autos).

I love ripping packs. But if there is a player your chasing, it just makes more sense to buy the single instead. I’m certainly not in a position to criticize those for “wasting” money.

 

Buy singles. Or buy boxes and don’t rip. Both good strategies imo.

LCS has Retail boxes for $165. May just have to snag one.

 

Pulled a Eduardo Vaughan (Red Sox) 1st Bowman yellow refractor auto /75 and a Elijah Tatis chrome refractor /399 in the same $10 value pack from Walmart. Haven’t opened much retail but it seems more loaded than usual.

 

Did the pack have a security device in it? Blank white card with the strip?

 

I know I’ve seen them in other retail formats but not sure about that pack.

 

Wish I had known about the security tag hack. Walmart had a bunch a few weeks ago but I didn't bother get any since the pack odds aren't as good as the blasters.

Rumor is the fat packs with the square security tag in the back of the pack have the numbered cards or autos.

 

I saw the rumor and my Walmart had only one with the tag on it and it had a green chrome /99 in it. I've been wondering if it was coincidence or if that's really a thing

 

Can you easily spot the security tag?

Also dealing with my first real asshole on eBay today. I have a Pete Alonso patch auto listed and he messaged me complaint why I dont have it set to let them offer $95 on a $110 card. So I lowered the value and limit and said I’d accept $96.50. He said no that’s too much but $95 plus shipping wasn’t. Then I said I’d do $95 shipped off of eBay and the cocksucker says the highest he will go is $60 now. WTF

 

Yea tag is in back of pack. Packs are kind if transparent so instead of seeing a card in back you see all white. Can also feel the tag sticking up

 

I have zero desire for Prizm football this year. I'm more looking forward to Optic.

 

I've bought a bunch and not all have been hits, but feels like maybe a higher percentage?

Prizm doesn't really do anything for me. Would much rather put the money I would spend on Prizm and put it towards Optic.

Prizm just doesn’t do it for me. Granted I collect primarily baseball and the prizm mlb offering sucks.

 

I don’t mind dropping a hundred a week in blasters if I can find them. But dropping $500 plus on anywhere from 1 to 70-80 cards just isn’t for me.

 

I'll obviously buy Prizm at retail any time I see it, but it is substantially less fun to rip for me than Optic or Select. Hits are so few and far between in my experience

 

I have never seen a retail select and would love nothing more than bust some of that.

Looked everywhere but if I can’t find it in the wild I’m not buying it.
