opening the Prizm 2021-2022 retail from Target, got a Vigor Danny Ings. They claim ultra rare but exactly how rare is this retail insert?
Saw that one coming unfortunately. I haven't kept up with baseball yet, has Witt/Tork/JRod been in topps other releases this year? What's even come out yet, any big money products? Point I'm getting at is that they may not want to waste these guys in update if they can't get them in other products this year, they may hold out until next year so they can have rookies in all their other sets. Not sure what turn around time is so hard for me to gauge. But there is precedent for guys in chrome not in 1 or 2 but that was before the production issues
I'd say that's a pretty good sign then he'll be in update and chrome if he's already starting to hit some sets now
I'm going to be doing a lot of retail hunting for Topps Chrome. No chance I can afford a hobby box lol
Also, reading some stuff on social media, a lot of folks think they could have autos in Chrome, but not looking good for base
Was watching some Prizm FOTL on Loupe get ripped today and so far its been brutal. Guy spent $2000 for the last 10 packs of a box and his best hit was a Kyle Pitts auto, all his color and numbered cards were vets or defensive rookies except the Pitts auto. Seen other boxes ripped and they are terrible, snackskin Ed Oliver and a /5 golladay.
Lol the series 2 only tigers rookie is Robson, who is 27 hitting .198 in the minors this year who randomly got 7 ab in mlb last year (and went 0-7)
I have listed this monster, haha. I have no comps other than seeing a Pepe (Arsenal) sold for $100 so, I am going to shoot my shot in hopes of recouping some money from the horrible Prizm Target order
Your comment made me watch Loupe. No Prizm was ripped but guy dropped $3,100 on impeccable basketball. My immediate reaction was what a waste and dude winds up pulling a Cade Cunningham 2/2 auto. That’ll pay but I don’t have it in me to drop that kind of cash on a box of cards. Also why I’ll never hit anything like that.

Prices have gotten to the point that you need a top tier hit from one of just 2/3 guys to even break even. Saw a dude selling a Phoenix Zach Wilson RPA /50 I believe for $350 the other day and getting no bites. The damn hobby boxes still cost that. A low serial RPA from the #2 pick who plays QB in NY doesn't even pay off the box after fees? Why are we buying?

I love MySlabs. But, you're right, prices can be pretty head scratching a lot of the time. My guess is that since there aren't nearly the amount of listings compared to eBay, people have them priced up to see if anyone bites because it is likely the only one listed on MySlabs. The market for the non-stars took a sizeable hit a few weeks back so some people's pricing might be lagging behind. I know I had to go back through all my listings and dock them down a bit this week.
Kudos to all the people that still rip wax knowing it is a costly kick in the nuts and a losing game 95% of the time. I used to rip so much wax in the 2017-2019 days and even with "cheap" box prices I grew tired of the constant disappointment.
Shit, I don't count on winning with my retail purchases, but with these print runs it's hard to imagine breaking even hardly ever with retail or hobby now a days.
I believe he had a rookie in 2020 Update, if that's what you're referring to. But, yeah, for how hot he has started he should definitely have a card in the base set.
