I’m shifting towards buying more of the cards I want/can afford. But I have always enjoyed ripping packs, and I’m afraid I always will. I’m also much more selective of what I rip.
I will always rip on the small scale but I'm ripping for a couple cards I want and can get for less than the box. Makes no sense and just buy the singles
Yeah, I haven't touched retail in quite awhile, I even saw a fresh restock at WalMart and walked away unscathed. Twitter/Ebay for me right now. The rando shit I didn't know I needed that show up in twitter stack sales is the drug now.
Definitely the smart way to go about it. Like I didn’t buy any series 2, I just bought the Witt SP. Today I bought 3 hangers of update. I got a base, debut, and one of his inserts. I’m likely done buying update, and will just buy the mullet SP sometime
I think it depends on the retail. This past years Bowman blasters had better odds of hitting color than hobby. But folks buying up Absolute football retail trying to hit a Kaboom are just burning money. Retail Absolute base has zero value. I think a good rule of thumb for retail is if the "parallels" are just different colors of stamped foil, stay away.

This. Apparently the hangers for update are heavy with SP’s. Got a jersey patch in one, and a /76 in the other. For $12 I’ll take the 67 cards or whatever in this years, because of Witt/Julio + apparent good odds.
Are the Classics any good? I feel like blowing some money and may order a box from the Panini auction thing. I see the NFL ones were just released today.
I’ve never done one of these before. I see the floor is $100 but I just assumed they’d sell out well before it gets there. I’ll wait it out and keep checking.
If I can, I’d recommend just using that money to buy a cool card or two from the set that you like/want. Big fan of ripping, but just don’t find most Panini product to be worth buying/ripping.
Yeah I was refreshing the Panini app on my phone and it didn't say it was sold out, so I just assumed they still had them. Then I tried to buy some at $100 and found out I was shit out of luck.
I think Meijer and Walmart are the only ones that have it right now. Not sure if Target will. I picked some up from Walmart pretty easily.
Walmart had them. I almost posted in here yesterday when I was there. Full of Bowman Megas and topps update hangers. Went with three hangers instead of Topps update. Nothing big but I did pull two Witts, one being a variation, Julio debut, Royce Lewis blue and I thought I hit a big one with a George Kirby out of 499. Seattle rookie color had my heart going.
It was not a short print. I thought it was as I had two Witts in the pack. It’s just the debut. Found one update chrome hanger at Target. Another debut of swift and a Tork pink. Nothing big has been pulled but I’ve seen better value in hangers than just about any other retail product.
