I think it will. Bunch of autos from guys who don't have rookie autos anywhere else, like Daniels, Williams, and Nix. Plus the Topps Chrome brand name itself.

Anyone very familiar with Kobe Bryant Topps Rookies? Looking at getting a few raw ones and getting them graded and hoping to hit a 10. What are the main defects with them, I’ve just been looking on EBay and have found ones I think are well centered and have good corners, are they known to have surface defects also?

Found out that my 13 year old’s friend will go to Target for a restock and hide boxes behind microwaves so his buddies can buy them next time they’re in the store lol.

 

This will be a losing endeavor. I wouldn’t recommend attempting this.

 

Still thinking about doing 1 or 2 if I can find them cheap enough raw. Everyone is still asking $65-80 for them raw. I’d like to find one for $40 or so. Cause I’m fully expecting them to no better than a 7 or 8.

 

A 7 or 8 would probably be a win in this endeavor

I wouldn’t. Likely a lot of the raw Kobe RCs are trimmed.

 

Anyone ever submitted a card for grading/authentication that PSA doesn't have in their database, nor can they find it on a checklist? I'm pretty sure the card was added after the release of the set, as it was a redemption.

Just curious if I'm wasting my time sending it in.

 

I've sent in cards not in the database but I don't know about not in a checklist either. I've submitted some 1/1s and other SPs they didn't have already so I just followed the format PSA had listed for the closest-matching card and then edited the name/parallel.

 

Unless you want them to fade display non-autos.

 

Out of curiosity, do you have a general ballpark of how many card autos you own? Dropped in figuring you had a new set you’d just completed or something

 

Never counted but it's in the thousands just based on all the autos my brother and I obtained as kids.

 

I can’t believe people haven’t figured out yet that retail and even hobby prices are 96.5% of the time a loss. I understand people buying because they truly enjoy collecting or just to have a fun rip. But these people that buy second hand or buy to rip them and hopefully hit a big card, they are losing money all the time. I haven’t bought a sealed product in over a year. If you want to gamble just buy players that are at a low point and hope they bounce back.

 

Speaking of dumb shit in the hobby, the other day I watched a breaker ripping some packs for customers and one person ask if any of the cards were a SP or SSP and the breaker goes what is that? How do I find that out? Like WTF
