I have a friend who is convinced Sekou is going to turn into a really good NBA player so he is buying up a lot of Sekou stuff. But he came across this card that really makes you think about how legit Panini is with some of their patches They have multiple cards with a similar patch on it Spoiler: Spoiler of photos for size The problem is, nowhere on any Pistons jersey has a point like that except the number 8 and 3, which Sekou doesn't wear. The R in Detroit has a gradual slope that doesn't come to a point like that. Also the team name doesn't have the holes in it either.I know game used cards are probably BS a lot, but you think Panini wouldn't be so obvious about it. They also certify on the back that they are authentic, kind of shitty.
Look on Worthpoint to see if those exact cards have been sold in the past and if the relics match previous listings. You'd be amazed at how much relic swapping goes on in the business.
They are SP cards and are /25, so you think Panini would put a nice patch on it. Also I have seen 4 or 5 with similar patches that cannot be from his jersey from the same line for sale from different sellers. This has to be a Panini fuck than multiple people swapping out patches on a /25 card for a guy who isn't that great yet. I also just realized the stitching is different on the cards. We caught someone swapping a shitty CC Sabathia relic a couple weeks back, like a $2 card trying to make it a $15 with a nicer piece of (fake) relic.
I get it can happen, but /25 cards have nice patches on them already, thats why they are SP. And I doubt multiple (4-5) sellers are doing that on a newer card.

They're just wearing a jersey with the numbers on them, not an actual player specific or game used jersey
You'd be surprised at how many terrible people are in the card industry. The recent boom has likely brought in even more bad people, not to mention all the new, naive buyers who are buying these fake patches/cards because they don't know any better.
I agree, but those Sekou patches aren't faked. Thats on Panini. That set was actually just released on 6/12 and those cards are all sold from different sellers, one from Taiwan. I think its pretty obvious to me panini did those patches
Yeah those are definitely factory patches. Sorry I was talking about the various fake patches you see on ebay for older stuff. Panini's quality control is pretty terrible this year so it wouldn't surprise me if they had some leftover Khyri Thomas jerseys to cut up and put into Sekou cards.
I read somewhere that they have players Wear jerseys with 8s or 88s on them so they can get more patches

Heard about that. Saw the Jasson base superfractor got a 9.5 grade. Can only imagine what the auto version goes for.
I bet on the back of those cards it says "player worn" and not "player used" so he just put on a bunch of jerseys, not his and then BOOM "player worn".
It says player worn/used so its shady they lump them together and don't specify, but im sure that's what they do.

Think im done selling on ebay. In 2003 when I was a freshman in HS, I sent some cards to players by mail. One was Tom Brady, card came back "signed" and included a printed thank you for the support post card from "Tom Brady". Now I know mail autographs can be done by an attendant or auto pen or supposedly the mom of a player, so its entirely possible its not real. He wasnt as big of a deal back then, but he was coming off his first Super Bowl so if i had to guess it was probably just signed by someone who works for the Patriots. I listed the card with the post card on ebay, and put in title read description. In the description i wrote basically what I wrote above saying the card came from the mail and had no COA and the return postcard was only proof I had and it would be shipped with the card. The card still got to $70 in bids with two days left. Today I got a notice my listing was removed for being a forgery and that it was reported by the rights holder "Tom Brady" and if i wanted to contest it I would have to contact him and tristar and get their permission to relist. It also added all my other listings would be hidden from search for 3 days and if they end unsold in that time i will still be charged any fees as it relates to them. For all the shady shit sold on ebay, I got busted for being honest about what I'm selling and how i got it and it has no coa? I guess Tom (tristar) is just admitting he sent fake autos to kids/teens who wrote him fan mail.
Today I got an ebay message about a listing of mine being removed. Too bad it's something that sold (on ebay) about 8 months ago. Not exactly sure what they think they're removing, maybe I'll luck out and they'll give me my seller fees back lol.

My target is fully stocked with Bowman mega box today. They are limiting it to two boxes a person, which I think isnt a bad thing. I got two boxes and was opening it in the car and did decent. Hit Skubal, Pauson and a couple ok paper cards, although not worth much. Pulled a Gunnar Henderson mega box auto, which is only a $5 card or so but nice to hit an auto. Also pulled a gold Freudis Nova /50 mega box refractor ($3 or so card) and a pink Miguel Amaya /199 mega box refractor (only like a $1 card). So not awful but nothing great. As I was leaving my wife called and said we needed milk, so I ran back in to get milk and decided to get one more box. Glad I did because I hit it pretty well on this 3rd box. I pulled all of these from that 3rd $20 blaster box. Cleaning out the garage in preparation for a remodel we're starting soon and came across my old baseball cards I collected as a kid. Felt really good to take them down to the local shop today to have the guy look through them and tell me there was nothing worth while in it. Only thing he mentioned was I could maybe get a couple bucks for one particular Roger Clemens card.
Hoping the Target by work does the usual lunch time re-stocking tomorrow. I haven't seen mega boxes since earlier in June when I could have bought like 6 or so and only got 2.
I have a friend who lives near me. I went at 3ish and they had probably close to 30 or 40 mega boxes. And despite a "two box limit" they were all gone when my friend went there 45 minutes later. Im convinced a guy must know someone who works there who will ring him up.
Also bought a topps series 2 box. And man they fooled me bad, because topps always puts hits in backwards in pack. I had a pujols turned around and got excited, nope it was just a short print card. Although the "coin" card I got was Aaron Judge. Haven't seen one on ebay yet, but other stars seem to go for $12-15. It'll probably go down when others hit market
Damn, the Acuna psa 10 chrome bowman 1st i bought for $120 in March most recently sold at auction on ebay for $333. Its getting close to trippling in value in 4 months. Also watched a Phils pulls video from December where he said he bought a PSA 10 LeBron chrome topps rookie for $1,800. Looked it up and most recent sold for $15,600. Market is still going nuts

Bought 4 fat packs and 2 hanger boxes and the only notable thing was a wilson contreras relic card numbered to 199, i think. Some other card numbered to 75 but i forget who it was, it was that memorable. Got a Babe Ruth Turkey red card that looks cool, but i think it's just a normal insert.
That target hasn't stocked its shelves in at least a month. I think they had weeks worth they just put out. 30-40 may be a slight exaggeration, but this is the picture I sent my friend. I think there was 2 rows to left of picture, each row was 3 deep and had 1 or 2 on top. It was completely empty 45 minutes later. He sent me the other picture back in response.

Went through some older boxes and found a bunch of 2005-06 topps chrome basketball. Didn’t find any rookies but found a Lebron and Kobe base. Thought they may sell for $5-10. I sold the Lebron for $64 and the Kobe for $26. Crazy hoe much a base card goes for these days.
All cards have exploded but especially basketball stuff. Prizm is basically the new Topps Chrome - Zion base Prizm rookies are now going for over $200. I remember buying a couple at $50 and even then I thought that was too much for a base card. On a semi-related note, Shai GIlgeous-Alexander Prizm Silver PSA 10s are now selling for nearly $1,000. I remember picking up a dozen of them raw for $20-25. When the season was postponed, the PSA 10 sold for $100. Cards are nuts.

Dang, I threw that Aaron Judge coin card on ebay for $25 or BIN. Other stars were selling $15 or so. It was only one on ebay and was hoping someone would give me $15-20 offer, but someone already bought it for full price. I did really well yesterday, that more than paid for the $20 blaster that it came out of. Its nice to get cards on the market before others, because I bet that card eventually sells for half that because one comes in every blaster and i dont think that their is a large checklist for those inserts.
