What are you thinking for the Burrow and Herbert's. I've pulled a couple nice Lamb from prizm and optic if you want to do a trade plus sale (I'm sure Lamb and worth as much, and assuming you'd want Lamb based on Cowboys icon)
Andy is after the burrow so if he passes I’ll sell to you. The Herberts are going for $200 a piece for the pink and purple shock and the patch is /50 and I’d want $250-300 for that. (high I know). Also not really interested in and more Lamb, have tons of him already.
Purple looks a little OC, any obvious surface issues or potential grading issues on the other two? Pulled a nice Burrow I sent for grading, wouldn't mind a nice Herbert too And I see someone else asked about Lamb, I have his black and white or negative whatever it's called Prizm and I also have the optic variation. Debating grading those but if someone is interested in buying or trading for either I'd pull them from my psa order
I pulled the burrow RR from 2020 optic and it’s the black and white version. Haven’t looked it up yet though.
Also went into meijer after work yesterday and they had three fat packs of 2020 topps series update and about fifteen single packs of the same. Bought the three fat packs and about five single packs.
I had a good mail day. My purple refractor /250 auto of Austin Hendrick finally was sent for my redemption. $200-300 card I'd guess. Also gambled on a base Herbert optic on ebay and it came today and looks ready for grading
Found a walgreens hanger of 2021 today when buying baby food. Only yellow exclusive rookie I got was Edward Olivares
ha I noticed the diaper box protection on the cards you sent me. I have a one year old so I know how useful it can be.
Those boxes are perfect to make sure cards sent in mail don't bend. And going through enough of them (5 month old here)
Went to the rite aid a town over (a smaller town) and they had the 2020 donruss optic 12 card value pack. Bought all ten. Went to the rite aid right up the road, three miles away. Bought all ten of theirs.
Bought this on ebay recently and it is near-flawless. It was slabbed in 06 which is probably why. Thinking I'll crack it (seems easy enough based on the YouTube vids I've seen) and submit to PSA as I think it's got a real shot at a 10.
I've got a Burrow Optic Silver if anyone is still interested. There is one small dimple to the right of his left elbow, so probably wouldn't grade a 10, but other wise looks to be in perfect shape.
Went by Target and it was stocked to the teeth with 2020 Topps Chrome Update and 2021 Series 1. Bought a blaster and mega of Series 1 and a Mega of Chrome Update. Definitely avoid Update lol, got a debut of Bichette but other that it was meh. Highlights from Series 1:
Oh, my hate is 100% envy/jealousy. I haven't found any optic myself, and overpaid for what I did open. I have one blaster I'm holding onto for a shitty/rainy day lol since I hit a Herbert in what I did open. I still have that J Love holo I'm looking to move for/to fund a Burrow if you are interested
With the market the way it is, it's so hard to tell what to sell and what to hold onto. I don't think the market is going to bottom out, but I think it will eventually cool. Crazy prices for prospects I think you have to flip like Jasson, maybe save a little but capitalize on a guy whose never played and has high prices. What I'm torn on keeping v selling is like my PSA 10 Acuna Bowman 1st card. I paid $120 for it and it goes $450 now. So immediate pretty nice profit. But if Acuna ends up as good as I think he can, that card could easily keep rising
Right now I really only have 3 cards I'd say are unsellable. My Witt Jr BGS 9.5, my Mahomes rookie relic, and now my Herbert RR. If Herbert keeps going, that card could be worth 1k raw in a few years.
I've started a mini Herbert collection too. Also pulled a nice Burrow red ice. All my Herbert base so far but thinking of flipping some cards that have pretty much maxed value to get a nicer Herbert
Hoping the Burrows slip to the 40's in the spring/summer so I can try and snag one or two. I still think he's gonna be good.
Im going to do one more PSA order before my membership expires and am trying to buy a few herbert to send in. Just don't know how much I want to spend / how much I can spend before wife gets mad. I know I'll make it back, but with psa turnaround times it sucks having a ton of money tied up for a while
I didnt realize how much Burrow base prizm were going. I found a guy on marketplace selling the optic Herbert. He was asking $110 which in of itself seems decent price. Asked if he had any more Herbert or Burrow cards and he had a Burrow base prizm and a Herbert Next Up insert. Got all 3 for $150. Didn't realize Burrow prizm was a $75-100 card. Did real well on that. Guy didn't know much about cards I don't think, only bad thing is when i bought them he had them in toploaders but no sleeves. Luckily don't see any surface damage on them
I got a Mookie Betts 1st Bowman PSA 10 for $149 last May. Just searched eBay and one sold yesterday for $690. Damn.
Yeah purchased a raw one also last year before the season started and I’m pretty sure I only paid like $8-10 bucks.
This is a pet peeve of mine. They're called penny sleeves for a reason. That $100+ card isn't worth spending an extra penny to soft sleeve it?! He probably deserved a slap on the wrist.
Anyone ever send a card to psa with a print line on it? I've been loading up Herbert cards to send with my next psa order. Bought two base optics, a negative optic and a purple shock optic. One base and the negative seem flawless so im excited about those two. Second base has one surface mark that makes me think I'm not sending it. The purple shock is well centered and has a real solid surface except it has one light print line going across it that's visible in the right light. Obviously that makes it not a 10, but do I have any shot at a 9? Because like I said that's only flaw and I'd accept a 9. But if that automatically bumps it to 8 or lower its not worth it to me.
Depends on wether or not the print line is prevalent in the cards. If a large number of the purple shocks have print lines you would probably have a good shot at a 9. If not I wouldn't which is a bummer. But you could also send it in and ask for a minimum grade of 9 and cross your fingers.
It depends on whether there is an indention associated with the print line. If not, sure, you have a shot at a 9. I don't think the severity of that print line is enough to make it an automatic 8. Seeing that it's a ~$170 card I think it is worth it to send for $25.
Purple shocks are awesome looking. I would say do a little research and see if it's a fairly common for that parallel to have a print line. But like JRod said, for $25 it wouldn't hurt.
Bobby Witt prices are soaring, and despite me having the 9.5 auto, I hate it. I wanted to buy more stuff before he exploded lol
I’ve got a signed baseball of his but he signed in his full name. Haven’t seen any other signed balls using his full name for price reference. Assumed it wouldn’t be worth much and I do have psa cert with it.
I haven't caught up on KG prices but I have some of those cards. My neighbor growing up collected basketball cards and when he turned like 18 he had no interest and just gave me boxes of them. Pulled them out of my parents house recently and found a Kobe rookie and a bunch of rookies of guys like KG, Kidd, AI, etc. Don't think any worth anything too much beside the one Kobe and a Duncan metal universe rookie. They were also unprotected in boxes, a lot of them ok but some are a little rough
If I could land a 10 on the Flair or any of the metals they’re around 1000 a piece. The flair just sold for 1500.
