Ndombele, Tanganga, and Rodon for not applying more pressure/closing down. Nuno for turtling with the lead against Rennes. Team effort.
I don’t like the position he’s been asked to take/is taking up on offense but not in transition. He needs to be deeper to use his progressive carrying ability, not a second striker.
I think Ndombele, Gil and Romero are the x-factors this year. You kinda know what you’re getting with the rest of the roster. For us to accomplish anything this season we need at least 2 of those 3 - and maybe all 3 - to come good this season.
troubling end to that half. Doherty, Tanganga, Rodon, and Davies are a mess of a back 4, and the attack looks completely flaccid without Son's pace and skill.
I would throw Emerson in there too since you've got to think they want him to start at RB in the PL games.
True. Forgot about him. Based on what I’ve seen i think Tanganga is the starting RB when everyone is healthy though. I’m not writing him off obviously, but Emerson looked a bit stiff to me against Palace.
Everything about the last two weeks is triggering Mourinho ptsd. We were fantastic against City, the trip to Wolves was a weird one due to Nuno, and we deserved more than 1-0 against Watford, but the lineup and tactics against Palace were abhorrent and we look equally listless today.
Poor Lucas. For as much shit as he gets, he works his ass off every single game and seems to truly love the club.
