yeah yeah, I know. Not arguing with you (or even the article), but I don't really believe anyone's story regarding anything that has transpired over the last 5 or 6 years with this club. Everyone has an agenda and there is a lack of honesty filtering out to the football viewing public because reporting is mostly based on what ownership, club staff, managers, players' agents, and players are feeding the sports writers (who themselves have agendas) and so we end up with conjecture masquerading as fact. It's been a shitshow, yet somehow this club still has a realistic chance at Top 4 or 5 with 10 matches to play.
Yes, the narrative is definitely worse than the reality and our fans buy into all of it because they don't like to be embarrassed by what rivals and media say. We bemoan not having a Todd Boehly and compare Chelsea's spending to what we should be doing and it is the exact opposite of what we should be doing.
Not to jinx today’s match but a win will put us in third for a few days. Can’t knock that. I just look at the table and assume we are 6th right now with Brighton in 5th. The pessimist’s table, one might say, where every game in hand for other teams is worth 3 points and, if we had any, ours would be worth zero.
yeah, games in hand, but we play newcastle and manu again. those have to be wins, obviously. Anyway, we'll all know what to make of the rest of the season in a few hours. If they drop points against Everton I don't think we need to worry about Top 4 -- it ain't happenin'.
For me the biggest issue is our injuries. We are playing with our backs against the wall and it is really hard to predict good outcomes with the remaining roster and uncertainty that we have.
