Because Ange. Look, he has been rusty since his return from the last injury, and I get giving him minutes to try to get his form back. Reminds me that I need to go back and rewatch the injury to see if it was a dirty play
Yes, the reactionary "because Ange" I think is unwarranted. He wasn't playing well as it is, so having him get minutes to return to form made sense. I think most of us would have given him minutes. Had he been lighting it up lately, maybe I would have felt differently, but Ange did not put out a strong team last weekend, so it shows where his thinking was.
Yes I think he needed the minutes. His form has been bad since returning. It’s bad luck but I’m not sure he was going to be a major impact for the final with his current form regardless.
I really like when Richy and Solanke are out there together with probably Brennan, although I guess you could slot Son out right too. I wonder if there is a scenario where we drop one of our forwards into a CAM slot, but I struggle to make it work. Son probably needs to be out there too, and you still have Tel and Odobert. I doubt Moore sees the field. You also have Archie Gray but IMO he has not had enough time in CM to be counted on meaningfully. Cupboard is pretty bare in Midfield right now with these injuries.
Always a fine line in situations like this. Yell at ange if someone gets hurt and yell at ange if everyone looks rusty bc no one played. I'm fine with getting the legs some run. Biss does something stupid every game. Awful pass led directly to the corner for the first goal.
his half ass defending cost us the 2nd goal too. He's packed it in for Spurs and shouldn't play another minute in the jersey. Shame, really. He's got talent, he's just never put it together at Tottenham (and to be fair to him, it's tough to be a consistent player when you're playing for a complete disaster of a club - with managers who have been just throwing random, heavily injured lineups out there hoping for a spark for all 3 years he's been in North London.)
I very much dislike him but his last two games in the semifinal legs are the best he's played in a while. With everyone out he's going to start so hopefully he can bottle up that play for one more game.
Today is my birthday. Taking the afternoon off and going to the local Spurs bar to watch the match with my wife who is responsible for converting me to this god forsaken club. Hoping for the best, expecting the worst. COYS. Do it for Sonny.
I sort of think his form is a little off. He’s had some turnovers and this back line is the most proven one we have. I have no issues with it. We need Porro’s creativity on the wing.
