Had tix to tonight's game, but it got ppd, which IM not too upset about. Gyorko and Greggerson activated. Tyler O'Neil continues to rake in Memphis. Although his k% is 23 and bb% is 2 It sounds like the Grichuk comps are are good. Still hope to see him inSTL soon. Also Mercado showing a little pop too. Still have pretty nice OF depth
I'd really like to see this lineup going forward. 1. Carpenter - 3B 2. Pham - CF 3. Ozuna - LF 4. Martinez - 1B 5. Molina - C 6. Fowler - RF 7. Gyorko - 2B 8. DeJong - SS 9. Pitcher
Matheny is a moron, Yadi bails him out. Hicks is so good/fun to watch. Although I hope his future is still in the rotation. Worry about that next year though
11 straight against the Reds. Remember when they used to have TMB fans? Let's just play them the rest of the year
Weaver w two 2 out walks. Falls behind 3-1 Cespedes. First ball in the strike zone is hammered, probably hasnt landed yet. Still allowed to stay in the game to walk the next batter. Mike Matheny...
sounds like it is indeed Carson Kelly time. Yadi out at least a month after surgery last night. hopefully Kelly plays well and can be turned into something at the deadline after Yadi comes back.
Kelly has become more expendable with the rise of Kizner I’m guessing Yadi’s Cup cracked and a nut got caught in it. Happened to a kid in HS.
I want that stache back he had in Spring Training. But really he can do whatever he wants. He's been quite the surprise. Im sure eventually the league will figure him out a bit, but if he can stay somewhat close to what he's been doing, that would be big
I'll admit I wasn't a big fan of banking on him and didn't think he'd be able to have much success, but he's been much better than expected so far. There'll definitely be regression, but hopefully this means his mean isn't as low as previously thought.
I never got the uproar over his signing. It was a low risk high reward. If he sucks, they only owe him like 8M or whatever it is. If he's a 5th starter, it's a big win. Even if they didnt sign him, Id still be pissed if they signed a longer term to deal w Lynn, Cobb, Arrieta, Darvish ect.
I would have rather rolled the dice on one of those guys. I think they'll work out more often than the projects. In fact, the ideal situation is to just do both and if you have too many pitchers, great. I wasn't a fan of locking up a rotation spot on a giant question mark.
More than one way to skin a cat, but my issue is signing those guys is getting them on a short term deal seemed unlikey. Signing a guy for 4-6 years blocks a lot of guys we have that are near ready Flaherty, Reyes, Gomber, ect. Might be better for this year, but creates a lot of problems in a few. Also I really wanted no part of Arrieta or Cobb. Darvish would be ok, but I still think that's going to be a pretty meh contract by the time its over.
He is, but that one is hard to hold against him. That was a rocket. Ozuna has been more disappointing, imo
I could not believe how angry he got at catchers picking up a bat for a batter... and then he upped the ante by getting pissed off at the bench calling for the ball that was Flaherty’s first hit. He is senile as fuck and needs to be taken out to pasture. I have no clue why Jim Edmonds isn’t calling more games.
