I think Houston's stadium could end up better than Livestrong and Red Bull Arena. The outside looks like it'll be awesome and it's going to have the steepest seating of any MLS stadium, so everyone will be on top of the field. Would be awesome if they have terracing for the supports groups. Ukrainian's sure do love themselves some T&F, especially stuff like the pole vault and all those world's strongest man types throwing the shotput and discus.
Is that large overhang going to be the basic set up for concerts? I don't mind MLS stadiums being set up to attract music, but I hate it when it's just a flat open area like Columbus rather then a seating arrangement that lets you put a stage over it.
This may have already been discussed, but LiveNation's contract with the Woodlands Pavilion is up (lots of good acts play the pavilion) and the Dynamo Stadium is expected to possibly host these shows going forward.
Olympic Stadium not up to par... poor West Ham/QPR/Crystal Palace/whoever. http://cnnsi.com/soccer/news/20120221/olympic-stadium/?sct=hp_t2_a15&eref=sihp
Yeah the only way that stadium would be good for football is if they get the undersoil heating and went with Tottenham's proposal to remove the track to enable the stands to be close to the pitch. West Ham are a bunch of faggots but I would feel bad for them and their fans if they actually had to play at a stadium with a track. That would be a terrible atmosphere.
Sounds like some people royally fucked up the planning of that stadium. Wish Tottenham would have gone there and had to play in a stadium with a track.
I know, I was just saying I wish you guys had to play at a stadium with a track. Bacary broke his leg because of how close the stands are to the field at White Hart Lane
Nice. I love the new soccer only stadiums that are popping up around the country. It is really going to help the game continue to grow. A packed 15-25k stadium is way better than a half full 50-60k stadium when it comes to atmosphere.
And now we know why construction is behind schedule in Brazil. But this stadium is going to be absolutely gorgeous when it is finished.
Lyon's new stadium is now under construction. Here are some renders of how it's supposed to come out.
Finally Lyon gets going. France really getting their shit together for the Euros with Lyon, Lille, and the Velodrome.
France is stepping up. Ligue 1 should be up there IMO with all the talent France produces, nice to see that they are finally beginning to make moves. Also cant help but laugh at the Brazil pic. I mean what do you expect.
Lille - in the foreground is the underground basketball court, background is the field foundation raised up
Will be interesting to see if there's going to be a bunch of Lille type stadiums pop up around the world. Would fit perfectly in the U.S. with these big NFL stadiums that only get like 15 scheduled dates a year.
that's awesome. wish it wasn't in an area with so many Mexicans/foreigners or it'd be a great place for the USMNT to play.
