Regarding Louisiana whenever the question of how everyone knows everyone else comes up I explain that it’s only got 4 million people and is still pretty segregated (and stratified economically) as far as social circles go. As a result if you grew up white middle to upper class you at least know a friend of a friend of every other white middle to upper class person in the state. Just using this board as an example, bigjrock grew up in the same neighborhood as my mom’s family and went to the same HS as my uncle and cousin. Another uncle lives on the same street The Milkman grew up on. I don’t know either of those guys but we know a lot of the same people. Also former user Long_John_Holmes aka PrincessKit went to the same college as my younger brother and they became friends, which was interesting to explain to my brother how I e-knew his friend before he did.

Our TMB FF group talked about it for several days and decided to start setting it up with subtle questions before three stacks just ripped the bandaid off. Seems a ton of us knew he was full of shit and thankfully held off to see how far he’d take it and he didn’t disappoint.
