Texas and Georgia are in a class of their own when it comes to underachieving. Strangely, Georgia fans readily admit this fact and Texas fans do not.
Michigan underachieves at a top-5 level, but Texas is on its own plane of underachievement. Horns would definitely be favored by double-digits in an underachievement competition.
Georgia’s underachievement is a 25 year thing so you get a divergence where the under 50s arent content but the olds still view the school and state as in the same class as the rest of the deep south, so theyre moreso OK with putzing around. Dynamics of job changed entirely for a laundry list of reasons since 1995/96. Ga Tech threw us an assist too. But up to that point Two National Titles and Two Heismans was probably on par for a school that lost a coach to Kansas and hired a 1-AA guy.
