Brick and spoon in OBA might have the best mix I've had. It may be better than Zing Zang which is my go to. Are there mixes yall like better than Zing Zang or that yall use from time to time other than Zing Zang. SIAP
gonna make these for xmas. My method is basically making a puree of celery, salt, pepper, horseradish and a few roma tomatoes. once you have a nice puree you incorporate your tomato juice. I usually add the liquor glass for glass, and will add more tomato juice to get a nice blend. Love some BM's.
I've never made my own mix. I generally just use V8 spicy and add whatever else I want, such as pickle juice. But I've tried a couple others. Whiskey Willy's was alright. There is a local company called L.A. Gourmet that makes 3 or 4 different blends, I've had their mustard and cajun. They were okay, but I'd rather just have the V8 and doctor it myself.
two of the better mixes I've had (other than zing zang) are Charleston and Ballast Point (yes, that Ballast Point)
anyone have thoughts on adding some bbq sauce to their homemade mixes like some NC style sauce im pretty weird and love vinegar so i need regular folks to give me the green light before i make it for christmas
I have read that before, probably itt, but never seen any BP mix. I'd try it in a heartbeat though, I love them.
I like to take a pint glass with ice and fill it about 1/3 full of vodka. Then fill the rest with zing zang. Mix in a spoon full of horseradish, then throw in a Clausen spear and 3 Spanish olives. Keep all the other food items on the side.
Reminder this hypocritical Texas user once posted an anti-vinegar sauce rant that included the phrase "they use cleaning products on food lmbo"
The wife's gone and the y doesn't open til 1. Really debating whether to make a bloody or wait until I work out.
So NOLA has to be one of the main hubs of the bloody mary. I've discovered that most of their good restaurants do their own mixes and that they are mostly on the savory side. Will keep reporting. I've been nixing places that can't make a good bloody mary. There is one local restaurant that does crawfish that everyone loves for the social scene but i've started an uprising against it because their bloodys suck. Watery and just weak. If you have a prominent outdoor seating area and ppl go there a lot during the day on the weekends-you're going to need a killer bloody.
bump. the Menelaus gameday menu thread got me searching for this one Owsley you beautiful bastard what's on the bloody bar this year?
Bloody bar will have to wait until week 2 when I'm in town, but I've got a bunch of farmers market vegetables pickling right now. Think I'm going to be going with a lot of Maria's this year, too.
Haven't read the thread but I make a damn mean bloody mary. Nothing fancy needed. Tomato juice Vodka Dill pickle juice Worcestershire sauce Celery salt Original Tabasco
Hoping to step up my bloody game this year. I've never really made my own before, just did a basic one today with vodka, zing zing, hot sauce, lemon, and some blue cheese stuffed olives.
Shut this thread down. Blake Shelton has perfected it at his new restaurant in Tishomingo, Oklahoma. The Slim Jim really takes it up to never before reached heights.
Okay, I'm going to try making one next Saturday for the first time ever and I'm going to stack it with so many Chick-fil-A nuggets
I know that football is truly close when this thread gets bumped. Going to pick up my handle of titos this evening
I like them all the time but once the weather gets a little crisp in the morning is when I really get in the mood
So pumped. Going to have to review this thread before Saturday Go to mix is bloody revolution smoked habanero, but also like to take zing zang and spice it up. No matter what, steak rub is the go to rim garnish. Probably some olives, a lime, maybe a piece of bacon...who the fuck knows?
I have something wrong with me. I like everything about a Bloody except the actual drink. I love spicy shit, vodka, all the toppings and garnishments, etc. Throw it all together and it doesnt sit well with me. Just give me some straight vodka and a beer with the garnishments on the side. /hateshield
