driving down the interstate we pass a pilot gas station semi tanker truck and on the back it advertised whatever type of coffee they sell. yep, she thought they were hauling liquid coffee.
My girlfriend is an amazing person whom I love deeply. Her mother though...dear god. Met her for the first time this weekend because she lives across the country. Maybe the worst human being I have ever met.
A lovely woman of about 280 pounds who verbally abuses everyone around her including my girlfriend, her elderly grandmother, and a 10 year old black girl she adopted who essentially functions as a maid for her. We went to a wedding and after the reception my girlfriend wanted to go home and relax. I told her mother I was going to get us a cab and head back to the lakehouse we had rented for the weekend. Mom said "no we are going to an after party." I explained that my girlfriend and I were exhausted, having gotten in late the night before and immediately been forced (not asked) to make centerpieces for the tables at the reception until 3 AM. Mother dearest looked at me dead pan and said "I didnt ask, asshole" and walked away. That was pretty much par for the course. The entire weekend was her acting like she is mom and we are all 10 years old and misbehaving. I was a good sport for most of it, but watching her scream at and cuss out a 90 year old woman and 10 year old child from a broken home was pretty hard. My girlfriend told me she has always been like this and that she has never not gotten her way. This woman is a nightmare. She has asked to borrow money from me multiple times (this was the first time we met in person) and she takes money out of my girlfriend's bank account without asking on a regular basis. She is a retired government worker on fixed income who has no friends due to her terrible behavior and only has the company of those completely dependent on her for survival (who she abuses constantly). She cannot get up and down stairs due to her weight. After an entire weekend of going along with all her ridiculousness in an attempt to make a good first impression, she told my girlfriend that I am a "pompous asshole" because I am, quote, "one of those college degree type people" who "makes too much money." For the record she does not know how much money I make but she did ask 3 different times how much I make "before taxes." I definitely see a future with my girlfriend who is an incredible human being despite being raised by this troll (she is adopted so she has the body of the 15 years of ballet she did instead of jabba the hutt who raised her) but I have already assured her that whatever future we have, this woman is not part of it. My girlfriend did not hesitate to agree. Thanks for letting me vent guys
Addendum: the little girl who she routinely treats like the help/verbally abuses was raped by her father multiple times but my girlfriend's mother does not have her in therapy or anything because "she is strong and will get over it."
This woman's passing would improve the lives of 5+ people directly, almost instantly. I feel so bad for that little girl and my girlfriend. My gf is stuck in such a shitty situation. On one hand, this woman is the only family she has in the world. On the other, she is the fat, female Fuhrer
Took an ex through Bartlesville, OK one time. They've got three water towers that say Hot, Warm, and Cold. Sure enough she asks. I say something along the lines of "Yep, one of the perks of living in Bartlesville is you don't have to have a water heater in your house. It attracts a lot of new residents and homebuilders." Her Dad called me a few days later laughing his ass off because she'd dropped this knowledge bomb at the dinner table.
It is my understanding she has not legally adopted the girl so I am honestly contemplating calling CPS and seeing if they will take the girl put her in foster care. Normally this kind of thing would fall squarely into the "none of my business" category but knowing what I know, it honestly hurts my soul to sit by and do nothing. That girl is going to end up some combination of suicidal, a drug addict, and/or a prostitute.
As I read it I was hoping she'd die and you guys would end up taking her in which is easy for me to say obviously
My wife has has a bad habit of not latching our daughter into her high chair, even after me saying several times to stop doing that shit as she will certainly try to climb out eventually. She did it again Monday night, daughter tried to climb out to get her sippy cup and I had to run extend out fully to keep her from face planting on our dining room floor. Her: "I didn't know she would do that" I'm about ready to make her go back to work and hire someone not retarded to watch my daughter.
Man, that would be so much to shoulder given what she has been through. That said, someone has got to help the poor girl out

It can at least help. What also really gets to me is that this girl went through all that only to be taken in by this lady who treats her terribly just in a different way. For all she knows everyone in the world is abusive in one way or another. Its all shes ever known.
I tend to agree with this logic but I guess it comes down to nature vs nurture. Given that she has none of her mom's genetics and recognizes how terrible she is I feel like she may avoid it. I guess I will see how it develops. I am not gonna marry her for some years so ill keep an eye on it
Honestly, you both should get counseling. I hate to say it, but I feel like it helps expose them as assholes and will make them at least feel guilty... For the record, if my wife turned into my mother-in-law, it would be a net positive. She at least takes care of business. As my wife gets older, she tends to get lazier...takes after her dad. Woof.
My girl admires her late adopted father alot. By all accounts he was a great guy who kept the wife in check and was an empathetic and caring human being before Parkinson's got him
If my wife turned into my MIL (besides her figure) I would be so happy. The rest of her family are mouth breathers, but I hit the jackpot with the MIL sweepstakes.
Reminds me of one a few months back. I was leaving a grocery store heading into the parking lot and notice a woman 20-30 feet ahead putting her groceries in the back seat of her SUV and her daughter's still sitting in the kid seat the grocery cart behind her car. Then I notice the cart start to move and the woman's still fucking around in the back seat and has no idea. So I take off and catch the cart in a full sprint 3-4 cars away a few feet before it would have hit another parked car. The kid would have probably just been shaken up a bit, but damn woman, that could have been a lot worse.
Fair is fair. My girlfriend is a neat freak and is constantly worried about germs or whatever the latest disease of the moment is. Right now its the Zika virus. She really worries about this stuff. The other night I came home from the gym pretty late, took a shower and climbed into my bed with her and suddenly noticed a weird smell. It was familiar but I couldn't place it. I asked her what it was. She calmly explained that she had coated my bed in bug spray because "you don't want us to get bitten by an infected mosquito in our sleep do you?!" Truly bewildering. She is really smart but that was kind humorously shocking
Or at least start getting the girlfriend's paychecks deposited into a separate account that goblin can't touch
