I’ve thought about it and still can’t figure out where they expect to sell players not deemed good enough for Chelsea that would also allow Chelsea to turn a profit on them.
I miss how 20 of the 100 best players in the world were at one time on Chelsea’s books but stood no chance of succeeding there because every transfer window they would sign the next flavor of the month that jumped them in the pecking order and because of how much they spent on the new signing, the manager felt obligated to play them.
It’s always sad to lose young players but £10m for an 18 year old with limited minutes who won’t extend his contract is a decent outcome.
Bayern academy product. Was at Bayern for 11 years. We have a first refusal and sell on clause, so hopefully some blood money team wants to overpay.
Yes. Would’ve been if our board wasn’t cheap af and silly. Could’ve had KDB and Son that year for way less than we paid, instead, for Arturo Vidal and Douglas Costa. We also sold Schweinsteiger to Man fucking United for like $8mil. Unfortunately, our old board had a tendency to do that sort of thing. Obviously turned out better for him, getting to play for Pep, so we may not have gotten him anyway, but you gotta at least try and get him. Hindsight being 20/20, he would’ve been like 10mil more than we paid for Costa and both were 24 at the time. Although we did absolutely steal Kimmich and Coman that window for like 15mil total so I guess I can’t bitch too much. Anyway, I’m rambling….
It’s a horror show of a site. Just says Ekitike’s reps met with Liverpool, Arsenal, and United. Release clause £68m
