With Carroll Routledge and Britton/Mesa, we are going to have a midget midfield. I hate Fer, but with Ki out injured we don't have any other choice. I agree with you about him being at the top of that diamond being the best place for him though. Maybe Ayew slips into that role once we get Llorente back

You could see how much we missed Gylfi in just one match. Need a replacement quick. I was impressed with Tammy, thought he played well put in a lot of work for us in different ways but our midfield was absolute dogshit.
Yeah the diamond did not work and our defense was unorganized. It was Guidolin/Bradley level passing out there today. Maybe go back to the 4-2-3-1? I don't know. It just looks bad. Abraham had the only couple bright spots. They need to get better quick. No corners at all today.
As I said in the transfer thread, he did tend to get lost in open play at times. There's a chance we could get improved play in that respect with the right transfer. Our set pieces will be worse.
I'm okay with the 5 at back as I'm assuming Olsson and Naughton will be pushing forward often playing more as wing backs than traditional full backs. Mesa/Carroll midfield should help with controlling possession. I like Ayew and Fer playing with Tammy up front. Adding Bartley with Mawson for corners should be a good fit. Bartley was great in preseason scoring from corners.
Insert Fer hate here. Hopefully everyone's passing is improved this week. Let's see how Mesa runs things. Naughton and Olsson are going to have to do a lot of work today.

It is what it is. Utd is very fucking good but we collapsed. Almost kind of scary how similar to last year went in a way. Although I'd argue I saw more good things today before the collapse than I saw in all of Guidolin and Bradley's times.
We won! Through to round 3. Sounds like Ayew and Rangel were really good. Abraham gets his first Swansea goal on a tip in from Ayew. Fer headed in two goals. But Kyle Bartley went out injured. Stretchered off with a non contact injury apparently.
Yeah listened to the match last night in the radio. Really struggled to break them down for about an hour and then the flood gates lifted. Happy to get a win and not be cupset
Thoughts on Clucus? Idk I mean I don't think he is shit and I like that he can play in a number of areas but he doesn't really move the needle that much for me.
