I think you guys should rest all of your players with minor injuries so they're all healthy for that important match against Villa coming up at the end of the month.

I get that most good teams look at Europa as a curse, but it's still a big deal to Swansea. We'd have to spend a lot of money this summer to add some real depth to the squad, though. Also, Arsenal and Man City have to cooperate.

Swans confirm pre-season tour in Dallas
    Mon 11 May 2015 12:00

. . . Monk's men head to Texas to prepare for 2-15-16 campaign
Swansea City will prepare for the new Barclays Premier League season in America by competing in an international tournament in Dallas, Texas, from July 11-19.
Garry Monk’s squad will fly to America for a week’s intense training before going on to compete in the six-team tournament that includes Chivas Guadalajara (Mexico), Olympique Lyonnais (France), Raja Casablanca (Morocco), Pachuca (Mexico) and Malaga (Spain).
Hosted in the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex, the tournament is expected to draw a sizeable crowd of football enthusiasts and fans of participating clubs from the locality, including the tens of thousands of kids playing soccer in the area.
The tournament, which groups the Swans with Pachuca and Malaga, will be played at the Cotton Bowl Stadium in Dallas and Toyota Stadium in Frisco. Fixtures and venue draws are to be confirmed.
The Cotton Bowl Stadium was originally known as Fair Park Stadium and has a capacity of 92,100.
One of the venues of the 1994 FIFA World Cup, it has been home to a number of teams over the years, including the Dallas Cowboys (1960–1971) from the NFL and FC Dallas of the MLS.
It has also hosted many football friendlies, including Real Madrid v AS Roma last year.
The Toyota Stadium is an $80m football-specific stadium with a 20,500-seat capacity. Its primary tenant is MLS team FC Dallas who relocated from the Cotton Bowl Stadium in August 2005.
The stadium complex also has an additional 17 regulation size stadium-quality pitches (both grass and artificial) outside the main stadium.
It is the third time the Swans have prepared for pre-season in America having travelled to the Colorado and California areas under former boss Michael Laudrup in 2012 and Chicago, Milwaukee and Minnesota last season under Monk.

Fixture dates, venues and ticket details will be announced shortly.
    Group A
    Chivas Guadalajara (Mexico)
    Olympique Lyonnais (France)
    Raja Casablanca (Morocco)

    Group B
    Pachuca (Mexico)
    Malaga (Spain)
    Swansea City (Wales)

    • The Dallas–Fort Worth–Arlington, TX Metropolitan area encompasses 13 counties within the state of Texas. It is divided into two distinct metropolitan divisions: Dallas–Plano–Irving and Fort Worth–Arlington–Grapevine.
    • Residents of the area informally refer to it as the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex as DFW or The Metroplex.
    • The Dallas–Fort Worth–Arlington MSA is the largest populated metropolitan area in Texas, the largest in the South, the fourth-largest in the USA and the tenth-largest in the Americas.
    • It is the economic and cultural hub of the region commonly called North Texas or North Central Texas and is the largest land-locked metropolitan area in the USA.
    • The Metroplex has one of the highest concentrations of corporate headquarters in the country and hence a major business hub that is home to 25 billionaires.
    • The DFW airport is the third busiest airport in the world in terms of aircraft movements.
    • Multiple dining, shopping, entertainment, and tourist attractions are standout features in the 70-plus principal cities within the Metroplex. More than 15 of those cities feature a population of 100,000 or more.

We just need to get forward and play with more urgency to have possession in the second half. I'm fine if they wanted to try and frustrate them for the first but just get back to playing how we have all year and make something happen.

He hasn't played bad but I'd like Routledge in for Dyer.

Routledge would be a nice option, but he's done for the season. I think they come out the same as they did in the first half, but at some point early, Gomis comes in for Shelvey because of the yellow card.

So fucking awesome. You can tell Gomis still isn't 100% but he did just enough to have two game winners against Arsenal this season and that's brilliant. Good win. Big 3 points. Now we just need Bony to help us out a bit on Sunday.

God forbid a team employ a defensive minded approach on the road against a top 3 side. It just cracks me up when managers call out other managers for using tactics that actually worked.

    It's transfer rumor season

Have Swansea Found Replacement For Tremmel?

Reports in Holland suggest that Swansea City have had a bid accepted for goalkeeper Kristoffer Nordfeldt.

Garry Monk's search for a goalkeeper to compete with number one Lucasz Fabianski is likely to see the end of Gerhard Tremmel's spell in South Wales.

Nordfeldt, 25, currently plays for SC Heerenveen in the Dutch top division and is the club's first choice goalkeeper.

He has 4 caps for Sweden and some reports suggest that he may not be tempted to join the Swans as he'll be looking for first team football to boost his chances of making the Swedish side for Euro 2016.

Fabianski is clearly Swansea's first choice shot stopper and any new goalkeeper coming in will have to settle for being on the subs bench, while making appearances in cup games here and there.

Despite an apparent bid being agreed, the player may look elsewhere and join a club who are prepared to make him their number one.

Swansea City transfer news: Swans reportedly in advanced talks with FC Twente for Luc Castaignos as they eye cut-price deal
Reports in the Netherlands suggest the Swans are closing in on long-term target Castaignos this summer

it is being claimed Monk has given the green-light to go back in for the 22-year-old with reports in the Netherlands claiming discussions over a deal are at an advanced stage.

The striker’s club FC Twente are in desperate need to sell and are said to be ready to cash in for a reduced fee of just £2m for a player who has a year left to run on his current contract.

The huge financial problems at the Eredivisie outfit mean they want to offload one of their higher earners despite the fact he has scored 37 goals in 93 appearances.

Former Feyenoord youngster Castaignos returned to the Dutch league after a hit and miss spell at the San Siro but is still regarded as one of the better goalscorers in the Netherlands, becoming Twente’s top-scorer in a mid-table season with ten – the only player in the Eredivisie to hit double figures for the past three years.

Sporting Lisbon are also said to be interested in the Dutch Under 21 international who made Louis van Gaal’s preliminary squad for last summer’s World Cup but it has been claimed the player is partly owned by a investment company who are currently in dispute with the Portuguese club.

So I got two fish from a coworker that he didnt want that he thought would fit in my office.

I reluctantly accepted but have figured out I needed to name them. The past few days I couldnt figure out what I wanted to name them, I was leaning towards Jose and Alfie for no other reason that the wtf looks Id get. Even considered Alistair.

I think I am going to go with naming one Swansea and the other Jack.

What a half of good and bad feels. For the first 18-19 minutes we were as sharp and crisp as I have seen us this year. However we did the same against the big clubs earlier in the year and couldn't sustain it

Would love to see us get a second in the first 10-15 minutes so we can go hard to end the match.

For the moment it seems you guys have done really well for yourselves with the Bony move. Pocketed 28M and the production at striker hasn't dropped that much. You can't keep a player if he wants to move on, as a Spurs fan I know this better than most. You guys have a pretty good track record when it comes to investing funds wisely so you should be able to unearth a few gems in the summer window with that money.
