Good thing Dak is beasters as well
Kinda cringeworthy celebration
With all the mistakes we made early, to be leading near the half
Malcom Butler is fucking garbage
Ohhh that was a nice play
Surely you aren’t talking about byard
Witten is a fucking mongoloid
That FG miss was soooo bad. Ha what a fluke
I kinda wanted Henry in there with 1st and goal
Is he in the dog house? If so, why?
Nicely done Mariota. We had some nice drives tonight
Suck it Jerry
he's really bad
Like most Bama running backs, he doesn't know how to run without huge holes.
Let's cool it with the Mariota runs when we're up 14 with under 2 to play. I guess it officially ended the game but still too risky
He's averaging the same ypc as Lewis but the morons in here will tell you he's bad because they fall into one of three categories:
1. Oregon fans who want a scapegoat for Mariota's struggles (I like him but the bandwagon Oregon fans can be huge fanboys here)
2. Auburn fans
3. cornelius suttree
The truth is that our interior OL sucks. The coaches won't give him but about ten touches a game, when he's needed about twenty touches to be effective his whole career. And they refuse to call outside runs for him, where he thrives.
PS: All of this is fine if that's the new staff's gameplan. The flipside of this is that Lewis is as effective as Henry.
He’s not a good NFL running back
This is the biggest reason our running game isn't consistent, but if you watch Lewis and Henry and think Henry should be the lead back I think you are crazy. Lewis is averaging .5 more YPC and is a much bigger threat in the passing game. Henry does have his skills, but he isn't close to Lewis.
i don't disagree that the interior OL is garbage but henry is really bad, man.

he's averaged >4 ypc in two games (dallas last night - on just six carries - and the buffalo game) and has been the lead back for most of the season despite averaging 3.3 ypc on the season. Lewis is averaging about 0.5/yards more a rush and another ~25 more yards receiving/game. he's a better blocker, too. he's just better overall.
again, the OL is bad. the offense is bad. Mariota hasn't been great. but henry is bad and there's a reason why Lewis has supplemented him as RB1. sorry he's an alabama guy and you're rooting for him but he's probably not long for the NFL.
Yeah guys, 3.3 vs 3.7 ypc is really significant. And there’s recency bias regarding Lewis’ performance in the passing game - outside of last night and the Philly game he hasn’t done much.
A bigger RB like Henry isn't going to have a lot of success with the amount of penetration and push opposing defenses get. He cant make guys miss. Need to go with the shiftier guy until OL improves. Really need to draft well but that's not going to happen lol
Butler really cashed in on that one super bowl winning interception
~0.5 ypc is a pretty big deal. again, the team isn't a good rushing team (or a good offensive team at all) but lewis is better. the eye test and the stats back it up.
lewis had 35 yards and a TD against miami receiving. and 66 yards vs philly, 64 yards vs. lac, and 60 yards last night plus the TD vs. dallas. it's dion lewis. are you really going to pretend that he's not a receiving threat? he is only 40 receiving yards shy of henry's total rushing yards for the year.
Last post because I don’t want to derail the thread:
So if you take Henry’s 90 carries and add .4 ypc he would have 36 more yards. So if Henry has 36 more yards he would be a good back. That’s what I’m hearing. That’s not a good argument.
Lewis was brought in to be a receiving back. Everybody knew it. He’s been doing ok there, and has three games where he showed out in that department (I was wrong earlier it’s not two). Henry has ten targets on the season. Lewis has nine in one game. He’s also done an ok job carrying the ball. I’m not arguing that he’s bad - just that these two guys are equal when it comes to running the ball. Is that what I want out of second-round pick? No. But you guys are the ones saying Henry sucks. It’s just not true. The guy averaged over 4ypc with a average-to-bad OL and bad coaching the past two years.
But go back to the offseason when all we heard was that Henry was going to be used in the outside zone. That’s what he’s good at. Then go look at this season. They keep banging him inside behind three bad interior guys. Contact is made or he dodges contact in the backfield and he finds a way to fall forward for a few yards. The problem isn’t that he’s bad - it’s that he’s being misused. But the bottom line is that if they want to keep misusing him in this system and it results in wins, I don’t give two shits.
I have no problem whatsoever with Lewis getting a lot of 3rd down snaps but it is absolutely ridiculous that we will go two or three drives in a row with only Lewis in the backfield. If used properly they could be a hell of a 1-2 punch. Instead our OC apparently hates Henry and refuses to give him snaps or he literally brings him in as a decoy and then takes him out. To say that Lewis is clearly the superior back when he only averages .4 YPC more is a bad argument.
We shouldn't be too surprised that LaFluer struggles with their usage since last night is really the only game all year when our offense has shown any kind of identity and consistent play. I'm not going to change my opinion of our offensive staff being way in over their heads based on one game
He would be a better option than the guy who has 36 less yards.
If that’s a face mask then call the fucking horsecollar too
Mariota beautiful so far
Great half for MM
How about those damn Titans? Whole team playing well
Most bipolar team in the nfl the past couple of years
Beating the dogshit out of the Pats feels kinda good.
what team is this and what have they done with the titans
Coverage has been lights out, today. Weird.
Got to listen to the 4th quarter on the Patriots radio broadcast while on I90. They were at a complete loss for words. They said it had been since 2014 vs KC that the Pats threw in the towel like that. Apparently our pass coverage was excellent
Lewis and Henry now have the same ypc
why is butler still on the team, much less starting?
Used up all of our points last week...
dumb ass playcalling. infuriating.
I think we have ran inside on every single first down.
Also 3rd and 1 so we obviously run Lewis inside.
Well, this isn’t fun.
Luck killed Pees. Sad.
The team is better with Kelly at RT. Conklin should see if he can play RG. He's slow-footed and made for the Mularkey system.
our offense hasn't looked this bad since Gabbert was playing. players are literally running into each other.
it's ok because our defense is making up for it by not tackling anyone.
Conklin is fucking awful. What the hell happened to him?
He’s always been overrated. He isn’t getting help from TEs anymore and he’s getting exposed. Needs to move to guard.
Thank God for that bomb but this offense still needs to get their shit together.
