They wouldn't drop it. Sometimes they get to a point 2 or 3 years down the road where they're just tired of it being a thing and they take a substantial discount on a settlement assuming there's no merit to the other side.
Are we just going to ignore that he apologized for the initial instance of it? Kind of undercuts the idea that he's just going to stick to his guns no matter what.
idk how something like this could be drawn out for 3 years. It's crystal clear. He said it multiple times and there's a record of it. Do you have proof or not? He doesn't get 3 years to investigate to find proof of what he said.

I can't claim to be an expert on slander/libel claims but it's pretty easy to stall litigation for at least a year depending on the court, local rules, and how much your attorney is a ball buster. 2 years is certainly doable in the right court.
Yeah, I'm aware - hence my reference to the "initial" occurrence. Still, you can't say he won't back down over this lawsuit when he's already done it once, over this exact issue.
To be fair, those tweets were clearly written by an attorney. They didn't sound like Musk at all. And even after them Musk STILL couldn't let it go. I just don't see him backing down from it long term.
And attorneys will write the settlement, too. Though I don't think you're particularly an expert on Musk's tweeting style. Maybe he won't back down this time, but his history on this issue says he will.
I love reading DBL speak matter of factly about litigating a slander/libel case with no experience whatsoever
Such a hard pass on that blue color, looks good in white though. Also a bit heavy on the polished metal accents I think. Also truly hate the non-body color wheel wells. The cameras for side view mirrors are really interesting, but it's going to change how people interact with the front passenger seat having the camera screen so low. Lord have mercy that gray is fire. Only 249 mi range.
For whatever reason 90% of traditional automaker electric vehicle rims look like trash. Went with the virtual mirrors, very interesting. Not the most dramatic virtual mirrors Ive seen but significantly helps aerodynamics, which helps with range.
Range (and price) are comparable with the Model X, is it not? Last time I looked at the Model X, though, was that the base price was missing a bunch of things you'd want and that the real version you'd want would be more than what this would cost.
Comparable, but you can get a higher range X. I'm sure the Audi will have things you'll want to add as well.
Audi has 10 mi more range, 8k cheaper, and it looks like an actual SUV that can go even the slightest bit off pavement.
And of course, can you have an electric car reveal without a "tesla-killer article? https://www.businessinsider.com/audi-e-tron-electric-suv-debut-2018-9
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/arti...faces-u-s-criminal-probe-over-musk-statements Tesla is under investigation by the Justice Department over public statements made by the company and Chief Executive Officer Elon Musk, according to two people familiar with the matter, Bloomberg News’ Tom Schoenberg and Matt Robinson report. The criminal probe is running alongside a previously reported civil inquiry by securities regulators. Federal prosecutors opened a fraud investigation after Musk tweeted last month that he was contemplating taking Tesla private and had “funding secured” for the deal, said the people, who were granted anonymity to discuss a confidential criminal probe. Tesla didn’t have an immediate comment. Abraham Simmons, a spokesman for the U.S. attorney’s office in San Francisco, declined to comment. All from a tweet at a red light
It's interesting, usually with these big companies I'd expect them to just make a deal with DOJ and move on. But Tesla being a green company and this administration not being too hot on that, they could really put the screws to Musk/Tesla if there's something there.
I mean to be fair I wasn't the only one discussing it and the other 2 aren't exactly lawyer either. Weird to just point me out but hey that's how it normally goes. I didn't realize we had to be subject matter experts to discuss things on TMB.
I mean it's down 7% from the high today right now. How far should it drop on a report of an investigation?
It's probably because in this thread you not only pretend to be an expert on how the lawsuit will go but also pretend to have some unique insight into Musk as a person and how the stock should or should not perform.
