Ts&Ps to everyone's pools. This time last year, I was writing down an entire flowchart of what to do if things went south. And south did they go
it was last week. I was there two days I had Velvet Taco, Perry’s Steakhouse, In-N-Out (never had it before) and then Terry Black’s on the flight home. was a cool trip. hung out at Caroline’s after dinner. took like a 4 mile walk on the river trail on Wednesday. none of the places were really my choice - it was all work driven but I had no complaints.
You went to a Dallas taco shop, a Houston steakhouse, and a California burger joint. Austin food is trash so I can’t blame you too much.
Work schedule tomorrow is empty so I’m looking forward to spending my Tuesday morning fighting my way through mid ass HEB while looking for eggs and topo Chico Oof what?
No culture, whites making tacos and Asian fusion, copy cats everywhere, overrated and saturated on all fronts.
whites making tacos is everywhere in America but you don’t need to worry about that if you just go to Suerte Also the only Asian place I’ve been to is Kemuri Tatsu-ya but that’s the closest thing to the street food I had in Japan from any non New York or LA city I’ve been too The good food in Austin is good. Every city has mid places with no culture though.
If you’ve been to suerte and didn’t like it then I know I’m talking to a white who doesn’t like tacos hate to see it
a lot of the guys I work with ate at Javi's, which is outside the city a little bit but close to our jobsite. I got dragged to In-N-Out instead that day.
This doesn't make me feel any better. With that said none of this was my idea and if I wasn't in the wedding I wouldn't be going
There's still killer food in Austin. La bbq, veracruz tacos, via 313, launderrette. Just kind of meh as a town
Looks like I’m going to Live Oak to stock up on beer to drink myself through this weather although weather app says highs in the 40’s so it shouldn’t be too bad
Depends on what area of the state. Dallas will go below freezing tomorrow night and will not get back above until sometime Friday, maybe. High is only 34 on Friday here.
Yeah Dallas will get some cold, I was referring to Houston area as I think that’s where lunchbox is at. I could be wrong and just going off fan of section.
Supposed to be sunny on Friday, so hopefully that melts any ice that comes before. A real kick in the balls for people with kids in daycare though
I’m flying to Houston today. Please tell governor wheelchair to make sure we don’t lose power while I’m there. Thank you.
Funny enough, my mother in law comes to watch our kid during the week and her husband caught Covid on the 16th, so she wasn't able to come that week, then she tested positive on Sunday the 23rd. So she didn't come that week. She tested positive again two days ago, so for the past two and a half weeks we have been working shifts while he is awake and lets just say that shit sucks balls. It is pretty funny though as he is now talking a lot more so he likes to just scream at the top of his lungs when he gets excited, so basically if either of us are on conference calls, people end up hearing it. Luckily most of mine are internal and no one really cares but its been interesting. My mother in law's quarantine should be up for her to be able to come over and help on Thursday, which probably wont happen because of the winter weather.... So looking like its going to be next week now, lol.
yeah its subjective, i just found all the texas cities ive been to very forgettable and lacking in what i prefer in cities to visit
Fuck me for thinking I could just sneak in and get some topo and eggs like I had planned over the weekend HEB was a nightmare
