So complained to billing at the doctors office that when filling out paperwork we checked "underinsured" bc we knew our insurance didn't cover HPV vaccine. After a week they called back and are taking it out the the Texas VFC (assuming vaccines for children) and now we are only having to pay the cost to administer shot. Said on next dose write "VFC" next to underinsured and it will cover it again.
Isn’t it neat how insurance tells doctors what is necessary medical care or not? One would think it would require a medical degree to do that and not just some soulless insurance worker.
While helpful given the current system, it's basically the government not taxing some of you're income so you can use it on something they should be paying for completely with corporate taxes.
