Wonder how that will be handled also, if you have one panelist who got fucked over on a comp case, them having the comp rate in their counter affidavit will totally fuck defense lawyers
Also, I’m guessing some dem judges will say that Medicare and comp rates aren’t relevant or are too prejudicial to even come in
I’m writing checks to lahood, little, and moody tomorrow. And to Ann Johnson who is my rep who voted against it
This place is the worst The Texas Senate gave preliminary approval Monday to a bill that would prevent cities or counties from holding a gun buyback program. The proposal also seeks to stop local governments from sponsoring or organizing such a program.— Texas Tribune (@texastribune.org) 2025-05-26T23:13:47.757Z
I inherited enough guns to arm a small militia. Finally went to get rid of them and I was about to buy a locked case to transport them, prepared to have to re-register them out of the deceased's name etc. Go to a local gun consignment to talk to them and it was "Just put em in your trunk and park out back. Registration? Nope you don't need to do shit. You can actually "gift" a gun to anyone without needing to do anything". Oh ok this seems like a good system.
Mom went through that same shit when my grandfather passed away. Most of his guns were hunting rifles/ shotguns and went to my uncle because he’s also an avid deer/duck hunter and would use them. My mom got a few pistols and went to sell them and said that was way to easy for a gun considering what she went to trying to sell clothes to thrift shops.
It feels like sessions have historically been filled with stupid fox news talking point bills that die before getting through, but there have been a lot of actual damaging bills passed this time.
They had reasonable speakers of the house until this session burrows has gotten steamrolled by Patrick.
i would love for the crazy contingent of the republican party who constantly complains that the texas house is a liberal body to actually experience a dem controlled house just once in their life.
More Texas #hemp farmers frustrated with impending THC ban | The @texastribune.org #txlege share.google/v9aBxljidu3f...— Michael Tolbert (@michaeltolbert.bsky.social) 2025-05-27T14:06:27.234Z
There is a nonzero chance Abbott vetos the THC ban Meatball Ron did in Florida and Abbott pretty much copied everything desantis did back when he was a rising star
The only way I see it is if he wants to make a run at president or if he wants to make patrick look bad. But then he'd also make everyone who voted for it look bad, but not sure if he cares about that
Kronberg thinks if he doesn’t veto it it’ll fall on him and not the legislature. Abbott is up for election next year
lol at thinking Texas politicians give a single fuck about what their constituents want Abbott will veto the bill if he’s told it will help him politically and won’t if it won’t. Thats all that matters
This is the 2nd time this session that I learned of a bill that was so pro-constituent death that I thought could only be an onion bit (other being criminalizing fentanyl test strips).
“Do yall ever get tired of being on the wrong side of history” is a great line but no, no they do not.
this is a string of words Im not sure Ive ever seen together or will ever see again Just in: Texas' former solicitor general has left the AG's office amid sex misconduct allegations and a lawsuit outlining his apparent, months of detailed disclosures to colleagues about his sexual obsession with watching an asteroid anally rape the agency's No. 2 attorney in front of his kids.— Robert Downen (@robertdownen.bsky.social) 2025-05-28T14:35:47.208Z
I am being dead serious. Judd Stone allegedly talked about this asteroid fantasy so often that the agency's No. 2, Brent Webster, discussed it with him and, later fearing for his and his family's safety, consulted with other top officials in the AG's office.— Robert Downen (@robertdownen.bsky.social) 2025-05-28T14:43:34.973Z
The sooner society assumes that every Republican is either a pedophile or a sex pest, the sooner we'll get back to being a normal country
Third reading of senate bills deadline is today in the house anything that isnt passed by midnight is dead
