I love this shit. Being able to bounce things off of guys that know as much or more about football than I do is the tits. Everyone is die hard football fans and knows their shit. My agent for the book called me today asking where I was getting picks from. I'm up 44.1 units on the year (don't care if you believe it or not) and he wanted to know if I was using a service or something. He's starting to tail a lot of my picks, and a lot of those I get here, especially the mid-week stuff that I know nothing about. He's a really cool guy, and it's not his money, so he doesn't care. I just told him that I was a member of a board and we all talked about games and I kinda came up with my picks based off what the others said, bc I knew they knew their shit, and knew more than me in a lot of cases. /tweet
Keep killing the books man. Congrats on the great run. No offense but sooner or later it will probably run out and you'll get hit hard. Just keep doing what got you up so big and you'll end up having a good year in the end.
No doubt man. I know it won't last forever. I haven't cashed anything out just for that reason. I don't want to cash out and then come out of pocket later. I'll wait until the end of the year. I just feel more educated in the picks I make now. I used to play a lot of games I had no business playing, especially mid-week, but now I can bounce things off of other people have get a better feel of things.
Ya I know exactly what you mean. I had a rough first two weeks (didn't play week 1 really) and was down like 11units. Played way too many public games that I had no business being on. B/t this board and another one I'm on I feel like I get a pretty good feel for how lines will move and match-ups in games that will matter. I've made a pretty nice run the last few weeks to get back to even and finally am looking forward to getting in the black. Hardest part of betting to me is deciding when to cash out. Obviously I haven't had that problem this year but last year I tripled the amount of $$$ I deposited over the bowl season and then lost all of it in college bball and a drunken night of blackjack It's damn near impossible to think you'll lose any games when every week is profitable but it'll happen to the best of us and the most important thing is the recognize what you're doing wrong and try to minimize the losses. The 3-5 losing weeks are a lot easier to handle than the 1-7. I'd really encourage anybody to maybe set a # where if you feel like you've grown the bankroll enough you could set aside that money and play with the rest of it. Just my thoughts after going from up huge to nothing at all. GL the rest of the year

Yeah, this board really is great. I had a really good week 2 weeks ago. Things didn't go my way on the close ones this week (Fucking Arizona Goal line stand! ) but I still managed to claw my way back to even mostly due to the advice on the midweek games from the people on this board who know more about the teams than I do. That's the huge difference for me this year. I'm killing it Monday - Friday where the last few years those have been the games that have fucked up my week.
Yeah, this board has been good to me. I've casually bet in past year & either lost a little or broke even, just going on hunches w/out much backing. Don't know if it is just a coincident, but my $30 I had left over after the Derby waiting for football season is now $235. Lots of solid bets from this board & had my best week this past week. Not a lot of money, but fun none the less.
